Australian cosmetic company Aesop are updating their debut fragrance, Marrakech Intense.
Originally launched in 2005, the new fragrance was created in conjunction with French perfumer Barnabé Fillion. Designed for both men and women, the fragrance – a woody oriental blend balanced by fresh floral top notes tries to make the consumer feel they are in the heart of Marrakech, surrounded by spices and evocative aromas.
This scent is bold and can be rather heavy, which frankly may not be to everyone’s taste. The packaging correlates with Aesop’s other products, very simplistic design with a scientific minimalist aesthetic but due to the unisex marketing the packaging isn’t exactly beautiful, it is however, on brand for Aesop.
To spearhead the re-development of the fragrance, Aesop bosses brought in perfumer Barnabé Fillion again, who has previous created perfumes for brands such as Paul Smith, Von Sono and niche perfume house Le Labo.
