The name to which the company is known today came from its apprentice, John Kiehl, who purchased the pharmacy in 1894. His apprentice, Irving Morse, bought the pharmacy in 1921 and his son Aaron, took over the family business in 1961. The company continues to provide skin care and grooming products formulated by medical professionals who mainly use natural ingredients.
