True to the spirit of Dior Haute Couture, the Miss Dior Edition d’Exception is adorned with a white and pink bow designed, and made, entirely by hand by master artisans as its handiwork demanded extreme precision – 5.5 metres of lace is needed to make just 25 bows. A unique glazing technique, borrowed from the art of watercolour painting, gives the lace its soft shade and incredibly subtle hues. Each floral motif is then cut, dyed and folded by hand, before being placed on the thick, double-sided ‘leather’ satin from Japan that forms the base of the Miss Dior swallowtail bow.
As a final touch, a border in a slightly darker shade of pink is hand painted to the edges of each flower motif. In all, each tailor-made bow requires over five hours to assemble. Miss Dior Edition d’Exception, 200ml, will be exclusively sold at Dior boutiques. There are 25 numbered pieces worldwide.
