Lalique Encre Noire À L´Extrême

LALIQUE Encre Noire A L`Extreme2

French designer Rene Jules Lalique experimented with many disciplines; he was a passionate artist, jeweler and glassmaker.  Inspired by nature, Lalique opened his first jewelry store in 1890, creating products using natural materials such as glass, pearls, ivory, horns and precious stones. He gained success among various companies for his production of interior accessories such as clocks, lamps, fountains, doors and perfume flacons.

Already well-known for his flacons, Lalique started collaborating with renowned perfume makers (Jean-Claude Ellena, Bertrand Duchaufour, Nathalie Lorson and many others) and started creating his own fragrances under the Lalique brand.

As the new successor to fragrance Encre Noire by Lalique presented in 2006, the market welcomes Encre Noire À L´Extrême, an intense masculine edition. With its design, the new edition reminds us of the famous ‘Encrier’ designed by Rene Lalique in 1913, which served for design of the first fragrance Encre Noir and its successors Encre Noire Pour Elle in 2009 and Encre Noire Sport in 2013. The latest edition after moving towards a lighter interpretation and ‘sporty’ version of the original, the accent is now placed on intensive woodsy blend of cypress and vetiver.

Lalique Encre Noire À L´Extrême, created by Nathalie Lorson, redefines masculine sensuality with a powerful blend of cypress and vetiver. A new woody intensity, for a unique, unforgettable trail…

  • Top notes: Elemi, Cypress, Bergamot
  • Heart notes : Frankincense, Orris, Vetiver from Haïtie & Java
  • Base notes: Patchouli, Sandalwood, Benzoin

Richer, sultrier and more powerful than ever, the fragrance’s woody intensity sheds new light on the personality of the Encre Noire man. Virile and sensuous. Refined and demanding. Singular and seductive. Between darkness and light, Encre Noire à l’Extrême redefines masculinity.

I am a fan of the entire line of Encre Noire. And I honestly thought that this would be similar to the original, just heavier…boy, was I wrong. This is different than the original… darker, drier, earthier, richer, deeper… more ‘dramatic’, so to speak…

Longevity and performance are indeed better than the original, also the cypress is quite suppressed here, which is a plus for me. It’s a definite must have for all vetiver enthusiasts…. this is something else than your traditional bright, spicy and citrusy vetiver scents.

The fragrance is available as 50 and 100ml Eau de Parfum.
