Launched in 2006, Tom Ford’s Black Orchid is a sensuous blend of Black Truffle and Ylang mingled with fresh Bergamot and delectable Black Currant. Tempting florals and rich fruit accords provide a flourish whilst the heart of the scent is deepened with the intoxicating Lotus Wood.
The decadent Noir Gourmand Accord is balanced by Patchouli-incense and Vetiver. Vanilla tears add a fluid creaminess to warm Balsam and smooth Sandalwood.
Two new derivatives have recently been unveiled. Firstly the Velvet Orchid in 2014, a lighter version of the classic, and for the summer of 2016, the Orchid Soleil – A radiant and sensual force of nature, the new scent captures the seductive warmth and reflective bare skin of the Tom Ford woman.
To mark the anniversary, the brand will be releasing the Tom Ford Orchid Collection of scents and cosmetics inspired by the iconic scent. These included Black Orchid Eau de Parfum, Perfume Lalique Edition, Eau de Toilette, Hydrating Emulsion, Perfume Atomiser Set, Solid Perfume, Nightbloom Powder and Lip Color as well as select Velvet Orchid editions, which will all be released in October 2016.
A special crystal bottle edition of Black Orchid, designed and handmade by French Lalique, will also be part of this collection. There are also new blush powders and lipsticks, as well as select Velvet Orchid editions.
