Yves Saint Laurent’s cult highlighter now comes in a glowy foundation

Touche Éclat is one of those cult products that has never really died down in popularity. A highlighter for some, an undereye concealer for others, it’s meant to add ‘ribbons of light’ on the face. And while the brand has more or less retained the formula and the clicky pen dispenser – how satisfying is it to press and release that smooth, glorious liquid – we were glad see new additions like more inclusive colours.

If you’re still a loyal fan of Yves Saint Laurent Beauté’s Touche Éclat, there’s a new foundation you need to know

While the original Touche Éclat is pretty much untouchable, new additions to the range include foundations (in a cushion and liquid form) and limited edition versions of that marvellous pen highlighter. The new All-In-One Glow Foundation comes in an unobtrusive slim tube. The small size slips easily into purses, and heck, even pockets, but packs a big punch.

Think of this as the ultimate dewy glow in a tube – great if you’re on the go and can’t afford to pack your arsenal of highlighting powders and primers with you. Dubbed a mistake-proof product, this is the kind of product even non-pros can master. You don’t even need a mirror, because it blends out so smoothly without telltale lines and demarcations usually seen from improper blending. It also gives skin a medium coverage and a beautiful natural, dewy glow.

What does this mean exactly? Your face will not be completely matte and flat, nor will it be too shiny. It gives a natural glow on just the right parts of the face (see Kravitz and Staz Lindes above) like the upper cheekbones and the high points of the forehead. Add some Touche Éclat where the light hits, and you’re good to go.

This foundation has a buildable coverage, so you can always add more throughout the day, and the hydrating formula ensures your skin stays (and looks) moist. The shades will suit most, but not all skin tones – those with darker complexions may not find a good match.

Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat All-In-One Glow Foundation is available from 1 September at Yves Saint Laurent Beauté counters and selected stores worldwide.
