Time magazine rightly called the Icehotel in Lapland (Jukkasjarvi, Sweden) one of the best places in the world. It has been the reference among ice hotels since 1989. Part of the hotel is rebuilt each winter using the ice – some 30,000 liters – from the nearby Torne River. But in the other part you can now visit the hotel all year round.
The photo shows a ‘Dreamscape’ room designed by architects Alex Haw and Aditya Bhatt from Atmos Studio in London for the new permanent Icehotel. The fairytale room is made entirely of ice, with a spiral staircase leading to a high bed. The Icehotel has 20 unique rooms, designed by various architects.
