World Bee Day: Guerlain deepens commitment to protecting bees

A historic shoot featuring Angelina Jolie covered in bees – in an homage to photographer Richard Avedon – to exemplify her commitment to the groundbreaking, female beekeeping entrepreneurship program ‘Women for Bees’. 

Guerlain muse Angelina Jolie takes center stage for National Geographic and Guerlain in this ethereal portrait for #WorldBeeDay, shot by world-renowned photographer Dan Winters. Angelina Jolie is working with UNESCO and Guerlain on a Women for Bees initiative that will ultimately build 2,500 bee hives and restock 125 million bees by 2025 – while training and supporting 50 women beekeepers in their own operations.

By 2025, 2,500 hives will have been built within 25 UNESCO Biosphere Reserves and 125 million bees will have been restocked. The 50 women to graduate from the program will have been trained and supported in establishing their own beekeeping operations by the passionate team of OFA our partner in Bee preservation since 2015.

The groundbreaking shoot sees the actress covered in live bees in an homage to photographer Richard Avedon, drawing attention to the plight of bee populations around the world. In honor of World Bee Day, Dan Winters photographed Angelina using the same technique Richard Avedon employed for his iconic portrait, ‘The Beekeeper’ 40 years ago

Discover the new Mon Guerlain Intense campaign starring Angelina Jolie. Directed by Oscar-winning cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki, the campaign is set in the rural surroundings of Angelina Jolie’s Cambodian home.

In the sumptuous video, the Oscar–winning actress is draped in a sheer sheet, baring her entire back and revealing her intricate body tattoos. Jolie also dons the prettiest slip gown as she steps outside of the house and is caught in a shower. The actress looks incredible throughout the campaign, with the visuals capturing her elegance and natural beauty.

The music is perfect. The video is set to classic hit ‘Wild Thing’ by The Troggs, reminding viewers of Jolie’s daring and mysterious side. – Angelina Jolie’s uncle wrote the song ‘Wild Thing’.

Since 2017, American actress and activist, Angelina Jolie has been the muse of Mon Guerlain, the French Maison’s most recent feminine fragrance

After the Eau de Parfum original from 2017, Mon Guerlain Florale and Mon Guerlain Eau de Toilette from 2018, and the Mon Guerlain Bloom of Rose edition from 2019, French Maison Guerlain launches Mon Guerlain Eau de Parfum Intense.

Actress Angelina Jolie is also the face of Mon Guerlain Eau de Parfum Intense. Since 2017, Ms Jolie has been the muse of Mon Guerlain, the Maison’s most recent feminine fragrance, created by the duo of Master Perfumer Thierry Wasser and Guerlain Perfumer Delphine Jelk. According to the brand, she is ‘a multi-faceted, strong, free, and sensual woman’ and is the perfect ambassador for the perfume.

The Mon Guerlain perfume collection is recognizable for the combination of lavender and vanilla (tonka beans). In the new Eau de Parfum Intense version, the earthy aspect of the Mon Guerlain composition is emphasized by a patchouli note, which, along with vanilla and creamy sandalwood, creates an intense character of this fragrance with a focus on its base. Two types of vanilla are used in the fragrance – vanilla from Madagascar and vanilla from Tahiti.

 

Mon Guerlain Eau de Parfum Intense offers a special iteration of Guerlain’s ‘quadrilobé’ flacon and features a glass weight and copper band and a rose gold palette. The distinctive flacon was designed in 1908 and has been a constant reference point for Guerlain over the years. It takes its name from the stopper of an alchemist’s bottle – which is crafted from one piece of glass to resemble four lobes.

Mon Guerlain Bloom of Rose

 

This early spring, French Maison Guerlain will launch Mon Guerlain Bloom of Rose, a new edition of the contemporary Mon Guerlain line that combines lavender and vanilla notes and is represented by actress Angelina Jolie. The Mon Guerlain collection contains the Eau de Parfum original from 2017, Mon Guerlain Florale, and Mon Guerlain Eau de Toilette, both from last year.

 

Mon Guerlain Bloom of Rose represents a call to women to live their lives to the fullest and to enjoy the moment. The composition reportedly celebrates the pleasure of being true to oneself. A new rosy-inspired version of the original Mon Guerlain coming with warm and deliciously entrancing notes.

Heart notes: Neroli, Jasmine sambac, Bulgarian rose
Base notes: Sandalwood, Tahitian vanilla

Signed by famous perfumers Thierry Wasser and Delphine Jelk the new composition was created to be a delicate and bright floral: joyful, pleasant, fresh and fruity/floral. The core of the perfume remains consistent with the original, featuring notes of Carla lavender, Jasmime sambac, vanilla from Tahiti, and sandalwood. A new character is added with a combination of of neroli and Bulgarian rose.

 

Mon Guerlain Bloom of Rose is the 4th perfume in the row coming in the same bottle design, while nicely adorned with a fuchsia color bow.

Launched in spring 2017, the Mon Guerlain fragrance celebrates its first anniversary this year with two prestige editions. For the occasion, French Maison Guerlain has signed up with Parisian jeweler Truscelli to create two exceptional flacons finished with gold and semi-precious stones.

Fronted by American actress Angelina Jolie, Mon Guerlain, released in 2017, has become an iconic new scent on the fragrance scene. Almost a year after its launch, the French Maison presents two luxurious limited editions. These feature the original scent but revisit the bottle with special couture editions.

Parisian jeweler Truscelli has put its expertise to work to create two very special prestige bottles featuring clover designs, a signature motif of the Mon Guerlain scent. A one-liter crystal flacon comes with 32-carat gold details while a 100ml glass flacon is finished with a five-carat gold motif. The two symbols also feature nine cabochon-cut amethysts, evoking the fragrance’s lavender notes. It takes over three hours of meticulous work to make each piece by hand, a guarantee of uniqueness and unmatched quality.

This spring, French Maison Guerlain launches a new edition of their allready timeless classic Mon Guerlain, but now with more infused-flowers in its composition, Mon Guerlain Eau de Parfum Florale.

Well, what can I say something when Mon Guerlain has immediately captured my attention and became one of my favorite women’s perfumes. I like this perfume due to its elegant character, floral accords combined with an endless sweet final touch.

Created by Thierry Wasser, Mon Guerlain Eau de Parfum Florale comes with a fresh and airier composition all about a spring-like version and more flowery-peony infused than the original fragrance. Peony note adds soft and delicate accents to this powdery/gourmand perfume.

I simply adore light pink peonies, they belong to my most loved flowers. But not only in a vase, I also adore them in this perfume composition, a perfectly balanced floral aroma, not too intense yet long-lasting.

Angelina Jolie is the new face of Guerlain

 

 

Maison Guerlain has announced that Oscar-winning actress Angelina Jolie will be the face of its new fragrance ‘Mon Guerlain’. Citing Jolie as its inspiration, the new fragrance created by master perfumer Thierry Wasser is a reflection of all the different facets of the contemporary woman, including her choices and emotions.

While the announcement was only just made, the collaboration between maison and icon began in 2015, specifically during the shooting of her film ‘First They Killed My Father’ in Cambodia.
