Early Spring, French Maison Rochas will presents its new fragrance called ‘Girl’ (Get In the Real Life) as an environmentally responsible project, from the juice to the packaging. Girl is the scent of a new generation conscious and attentive to its well-being. Because the world is changing, Girl is more environmentally friendly with a vegan formula and with an eco-designed flacon.

Feeling better is good and Feeling really good is even better! Be ready for a new fragrance that is good for you and safer for the planet.

Created by Anne Flipo, IFF master perfumer, it stands as an ode to well-being and freedom with a vegan formula, composed of 90% ingredients of natural origin, which produces a calming effect thanks to a neroli extract with proven relaxing properties by neuroscience. A precious ingredient, 100% natural, obtained in a responsible and fully traceable way, to feel good.

Anne Flipo created the floral-woody and citrusy composition with the key words as minimalist and cheerful in mind. At the top, luminous neroli notes with relaxing properties mingle with the freshness of pink berries and blackcurrant bud. At the heart, the fragrance develops around a bouquet composed of orange blossom and jasmine offering a dazzling femininity. Finally, white woods and vanilla leave a creamy and textured trail. A citrus woody floral fragrance, for a Spray Good – Feel Good just perfume yourself and feel good.

The first impression brings great relaxation thanks to the injection of natural freshness of the soothing neroli, which enhances the vigour of the black currant bud and the effervescence of the pink berries, which are distinguished by their liveliness. In a second breath, the light explodes. A large bouquet of white flowers displays all its femininity: the radiance of an immaculate orange blossom and jasmine, combined with the velvety facet of a slightly balsamic orchid. Lastly, sandalwood and cedar woods warm the skin, with a subtle vanilla sensuality for maximum fullness.

Rochas Girl comes in an eco-conscious flacon: its clear design with a timeless style is a production feat, made as closely as possible: except for the stopper, which is obtained in Spain, the rest of the flacon is 100% made in France. The smooth and soft cap, made of partially recycled plastic, crowns a flacon made up of 40% PCR recycled glass from the collection of household glass containers, which reduces the carbon footprint by 9% and water consumption by 12% during production.

The flacon is decorated with an almond green lacquer (Nigermat) – a water-based lacquer that contains only 5% solvents. Its clean water-based lacquer and ink printing allow energy savings of 30% and 50% respectively.

A committed line of perfumes: Rochas perfumes donate 1% of the sales volume of the GIRL line to the international organization 1% for the Planet to contribute to different associations that work to protect the environment. Girl does not pretend to be perfect. It is a fragrance that took the sincere approach of delivering excellence, striving to improve when industry know-how allows. To approach the Oud in a different way, I was inspired by what happens when it is burned during ceremonies. It releases a blazing, enveloping smoke, laden with mystery and opulence. I tried to recreate the scent of this smoke,which is both warm, soft and translucent.

Oud Blanc is not a reworked version of the Oud: it’s a rediscovery. Enclosed within a white flacon, this woody oriental offers a surprising and crystal clear view of that tempered wood. Those men and women who flinch violently at the keyword ‘Oud’ may still be able to relax with the latest Collection Extraordinaire offshoot.

Although this Eau de Parfum noticeably contains eaglewood, according to master perfumer Anne Flipo this is more like burnt oud, which is supposed to be quite intense, but here it is warm and soft and has been steamed down to a translucent level. The result was an oud note that is present but absolutely soft.

There are also some gourmand notes, such as date and vanilla, whereby the latter, together with frankincense (perhaps rather benzoin), makes it look as if some light chocolate has been used. Vanilla gives the composition its sweet and creamy trait, while incense causes a whirlwind of emotions in spreading its structured and smoky facets. It also goes very well with white, light musk.

The date in turn gives the whole composition a fine, delicately fruity-sweet underline, whereas the rose appears more as if breathed in. Oud Blanc remains, as could not be expected otherwise, quite linear. And it’s no surprise that the date runs out first and oud with white musk remains most consistent.

Well – this is all done quite well, even if the wheel is not reinvented here. What we have here is an extremely pleasant autumn scent that brings together the components of soft oud with unobtrusive gourmand notes in an exemplary manner. For hardcore oud aficionados rather uninteresting – for beginners a welcome opportunity.

If a color could symbolize this research, there is no doubt that it would be white: a bright and timeless white whose purity is enhanced by a perfectly balanced, elegant and refined flacon.

Serpent Bohéme: Boucheron presents novelty through love story

Founded in 1858, Maison Boucheron was the first French luxury jeweler to establish its home in the opulent Place Vendôme next to the Hôtel Ritz. Until recently, Boucheron was the only Maison whose ateliers looked out onto the grand square.

True to this culture of elegance, modernity and savoir-faire, Boucheron has been established as the jeweler of light, in the City of Light for over 160 years.

A hopeless romantic, its founder Frédéric Boucheron, would travel to the ends of the earth in search of the most beautiful, rare stones. Mr. Boucheron’s love and adoration for his wife was a powerful force in his quest for the perfect jewels. Innovation and excellence define the visionary approach to the maison’s exquisite designs. The love story between Frédéric and his beautiful wife Gabrielle play a defining role in the stunning pieces and the story behind them.

In 1888 it was the couple’s crystal wedding anniversary. Frédèric went often on adventurour trips, to go on his way to find precious stones, the stones that are responsible for the fame of the now iconic jewelry house.

One night before Frédéric left on one of his many adventurous trips he gave Gabrielle a necklace in the shape of a serpent as a token of his love. He vowed it would protect her while he was away.

The evening before his departure, he says goodbye to his beloved wife Gabrielle and dedicates her a very special gift full of symbolism: a flashy necklace depicting a snake dotted with diamonds. He vowed it would protect her while he was away.

The necklace was a thoughtful choice. As a protecting animal, the snake was supposed to protect Gabrielle in her husband’s absence. Frédéric Boucheron was inspired by his wife’s free and assertive personality and created for her this bold gem, which at the time was strikingly modern to extravagant.

The serpent gracefully protected Gabrielle’s neck in a style that would become iconic to the house.

Not long after, in a beautiful tribute to Gabrielle, the first Serpent collection was born in 1968. As a protective talisman and a symbol of eternal love, the snake became an iconic element and inspiration. The basic tone dukes white musk flowers in conjunction with the chords of roses. The warm tones of the cistus labdanum plant leave the skin feeling like after kissing through the sun. Sandalwood and Patchouli lends the whole composition naturalness.

‘Snakeskin’ as the base of serpent bohemia’s first iconic jewelry collection covers the entire back of the flacon of this new fragrance. In the years that I work in the world of cosmetics, I have come across many beautiful and special packaging. In the years I have collected a nice collection of solid perfumes often disguised as a golden pill box. Special trifles to carry with you in your designer handbag, but oten too beautiful to use..

Now French Maison Givenchy’s L’Interdit collection brings forth a new product, a fragrant solid perfume. Not a golden ‘pill box’, but in a very attractive, lipstick-shaped package. The Maison’s creaters thought that a solif perfume in this form would be perfect for applying during the day gently on the neckline and wrists and for carrying in a purse.

In the opening are the fruity notes of bergamot and sweet pear nectar, combined with pink pepper, which gives a daring character to the flowers. The sparkling and citrusy bouquet of orange blossoms and lily of the valley are embraced by the vanillic hug of heliotrope flowers. A warm and creamy finish of tonka bean, sandalwood and sensual musks leave a comfortable and subtle trail.
