Bentley Unveils All-New Continental GT S

Bentley is bringing contrast and depth to its Continental GT family with the launch of a new S range, focused on driving performance and visual presence. Through a multitude of enhancements to the exterior design, interior specification and dynamic system, the new S range adjusts the Bentley grand touring recipe to centre on the pleasure of driving – an opposing yet complementary emphasis to the ‘Wellbeing behind the Wheel’ concept of the recent, comfort-centric Azure range launch.

Owners of Bentley’s two-door models have long appreciated the breadth of choice available to them, from the towering performance of the 6.0-litre W12 Continental GT Speed to the characterful beat of the 4.0-litre Continental GT V8. Now, with the arrival of the Continental GT and GTC S, owners can choose to emphasise the sporting character of the 4.0-litre V8-powered Bentley Continental GT, thanks to a package of performance-focused design and engineering features. 

Agile and Exhilarating

The new S range retains the 542 bhp (550 PS) and 770 Nm 4.0-litre V8 engine that’s proved incredibly popular with customers around the world, delivering a time of just 4.0 seconds for 0-100 km/h (62 mph). For the GT and GTC S, the engine is enhanced by the fitment as standard of a Sports Exhaust to amplify the crossplane V8 beat.

The eager, free-revving and lighter 4.0-litre V8 engine gives the Continental GT S models a responsive and agile character, and this is amplified by Bentley Dynamic Ride – the advanced 48V electric active anti-roll control system first pioneered by Bentley. By generating up 1300 Nm in 0.3 seconds, motors within the anti-roll bars actively compensate for cornering forces to minimise body roll under hard cornering, while also improving ride comfort at cruising speeds by decoupling the left- and right-hand wheels from each other.   

Exterior Design: Assertive and Purposeful

From the black gloss radiator grille and black brightware to distinctive S badging on the front fenders, the new S models make an instant and dramatic impact. Headlamps and rear lights are dark tinted, while all exterior brightware is specified in gloss black – with only the winged Bentley badge and lettering being finished in bright chrome. Gloss black wing build on the darker exterior look. The effect of these features is dramatic, giving the GT and GT S a more assertive stance regardless of the limitless choice of exterior colours they’re paired with.

The S range is offered with an all-new 22” wheel option, with five Y-shaped spokes finished in gloss black and also available in a new Pale Brodgar Satin finish. Red-painted brake calipers sit behind the wheels to provide a perfect sporting contrast. 

A second wheel option for the S models is a 21” tri-spoke wheel design that combines gloss black and bright machined finishes – also unique to S. Finishing touches for the exterior include S badging on the front fenders, quad exhaust tailpipes (in black, naturally) and sill extenders in black as featured on the Continental GT Speed. 

Interior Design: Tactile, Dramatic and Individual

Complementing the dynamic and purposeful exterior design is an interior that’s striking and performance-focused, with a two-tone colour split that’s unique to the S models. 

In the early days of Bentley, competitors at Brooklands and Le Mans would wrap steering wheels in cord for extra cushioning and a more secure grip. Today’s sporting Bentley drivers are rather better served, with the suede-like properties of Dinamica proving ideal for the steering wheel, gear lever, seat cushion and seat backrest of the Continental GT and GTC S range.

Leather hide is employed on the seat bolsters, door pads, along the instrument panel and around the console. The pairing of Dinamica with Bentley’s incomparable leather brings an interior that offers the tactile contrast of smooth hide and the soft napped finish of Dinamica.

Driver instrumentation continues the sporting theme with the same performance-focused graphics as the Continental GT Speed. The S design seats are fluted, with quilting available as an option, and the ‘S’ emblem is embroidered on the headrest of each seat; embroidered Bentley wings are a no-cost alternative. Finishing touches include a metal S signature badge on the fascia and illuminated Bentley treadplates with the ‘S’ device replacing the Bentley Motors Ltd plaque. 

Customer Choice – Sports and Wellness in Differing Blends

The combination of striking design, performance and agility gives the Continental GT S and Continental GTC S strong appeal for all those who love powerful, extrovert performance cars. With the recent launch of the wellness-focused Azure range alongside the S models, Bentley is providing customers with easier ways to choose the emphasis of their Bentley – centring on either onboard comfort and wellbeing through Azure, or dynamic performance and visual presence through the S and Speed options.

Bentley Stockholm inaugurates its brand new showroom in the Swedish capital

Bentley Stockholm, the latest brand new Bentley retail facility, officially opened its new premises in the capital of Sweden. The launch event featured some of the most-exclusive Bentley models to date.    

Located just off the E20 and the E4, the new showroom offers an easy access to the larger showroom facilities with 900 sqm of space, accommodating a new and pre-owned vehicles area with the latest Bentley Corporate Identity.

A commissioning area is on hand to help visitors build their own unique Bentley vehicle. For those who are inclined to take their customised Bentley even further, this area is also the place to explore the world of Mulliner, Bentley Motors customisation department, where the most unique and creative ideas are brought to life.

For this occasion, guests welcomed a special star amongst them, with the national debut of the Flying Spur Hybrid in Azure Purple and its Damson interior (see photos). This new model line-up proves that hybridisation does not compromise luxury performance.

The Flying Spur Hybrid uses a highly innovative third powertrain to deliver an unperceivable blend between the internal combustion engine and electric motor to offer refined serenity regardless of the driving mode or style. The exterior subtle visual differences include a ‘Hybrid’ front fender badge, quad oval tailpipes and a covered universal charging point on the left hand rear fender.

Joined by the first true luxury plug-in hybrid SUV, the Bentayga Hybrid in Viridian featuring Mulliner’s Black Specification, which includes a 22” Ten Spoke Directional Wheel – painted in black, Black specification, and sports pedals amongst other options. To round it up, the personalised GT Mulliner in Sequin Blue with a Linen interior and a striking Grand Black Veneer fascia handcrafted by Mulliner made an appearance.     

With the Beyond100 strategy, Bentley is focusing on redefining the benchmark as a leader in sustainable luxury mobility. The Bacalar Car Zero in Scarab green paint with a retrimmed cabin displays the  sustainable craftsmanship. The materials include paint containing ash from rice husks, which provides a sustainable way of delivering a rich metallic finish, natural British wool and 5,000-year-old Riverwood sourced from the ancient Fenlands of East Anglia. 

Only 12 units were produced and each one of them is a unique masterpiece. Bentley is accelerating its Beyond100 strategy and committed with a sustainable investment of £2.5 billion to transform the entire production portfolio and Crewe into a world – leading ‘Dream Factory’. Innovative steps to run the first full EV model down the assembly line by 2025, whist becoming carbon neutral, and having a zero impact production by 2030.

Bentley Continental GT Speed awarded Car Of The Year by Robb Report

Bentley Motors is proud to announce that Robb Report has awarded Car of the Year to the Bentley Continental GT Speed.

This is further proof that the GT Speed is the ultimate expression of Bentley performance, with that high level of performance achieved in harmony with the design and luxury that Bentley customers expect.

Robb Report’s Car of the Year judging panel is made up of 178 readers as well as Robb Report’s automotive editorial staff who evaluate the competing vehicles in five categories – looks, performance, luxury and comfort, utility, and intangible tiebreakers such as ‘wow-factor’ and collectability. At the conclusion of the two-part test, held in Napa, California and Boca Raton, Florida, the Bentley Continental GT Speed topped the field of ten vehicles to win the Car of the Year. The result is the third overall win for Bentley since the contest’s inception, and all with the Continental; the others being the Continental GT in 2004 followed by the GT Convertible in 2007.

“This year’s event was memorable for so many reasons, but the photo finish between Ferrari and Bentley for first place was something special,” says Paul Croughton, Editor in Chief of Robb Report. “Congratulations to Bentley—with the GT Speed it has produced a superlative vehicle that combines strength, elegance and comfort in the most beautiful package”.

Bentley is taking guests on the ultimate British road trip for their ‘Extraordinary Journey UK’ experience

A five day trip will take you from Bentley’s home in Cheshire to The Macallan Estate in Speyside, Scotland.

Bentley has announced its Extraordinary Journey UK, a five day/four night road trip that will take you from Bentley’s home in Crewe, Cheshire, England to The Macallan Estate in Speyside, Scotland. The journey will take its guest through a number of scenic destinations such as the Peak District, the Yorkshire Dales, and the Cairngorms while also enjoying meals throughout the day that have been whipped up by world-renowned chefs. And of course, you’ll be able to enjoy your trip in one of the latest Bentley models, which include the Bentayga, Flying Spur, and the Continental GT. 

Day 1

Arriving in Cheshire, guests will be greeted by the Bentley event team at the brand’s flagship CW1 House showroom in Crewe. Private entry to the Bentley factory will bring you up close with the craftsmanship that goes into every car and let you explore the vast grounds, seeing our sustainability commitments in action. The evening will conclude with an intimate private dinner within the factory itself.

Day 2

After a leisurely private breakfast, we’ll escort you to collect your private Bentley before driving in convoy into the Peak District National Park, characterised by its outstanding natural scenery.

Lunch will be at the elegant Northcote, hosted by British chef Lisa Goodwin Allen in its Michelin-starred restaurant.

This evening you will overnight at the exquisite Middleton Lodge, the setting for an incredible dinner created lovingly with home-grown and locally-sourced seasonal produce

Day 3

Choose to balance the mind, body and soul by starting your day with a private guided yoga practice in the natural setting of Middleton Lodge. After breakfast our convoy continues into the North Pennines and the Northumberland National Park before heading north into Scotland.

Tonight’s experience will be particularly special as we arrive at The Treehouses of Lanrick, a hidden gem offering true escapism in a stunning and secluded woodland setting, bordering the Trossachs National Park. As night falls, you will enjoy an exquisite, immersive dining experience with celebrity chef Tony Singh.

Day 4

Bidding a reluctant farewell to the Treehouses, we drive northeast towards Great Britain’s largest National Park and our final goal, The Cairngorms. During our spectacular traverse of this stunning wilderness, we will pause for refreshments at the peerless Fife Arms in Braemar. 

Today, you will experience one of the best driving routes in the UK, culminating in the arrival at The Macallan’s Distillery located in the heart of Speyside, Scotland. Here, you will enjoy an immersive experience which will bring The Macallan and Bentley Motors unique global partnership to life. This experience will include a bespoke lunch, a private distillery tour followed by a tutored nosing and tasting where you will learn about the process, production, people and passion that make every bottle of The Macallan single malt whisky so special.

Tonight, will see us staying at the recently restored Rothes Glen and returning to The Macallan Estate for a private, specially curated gastronomic dining experience, which celebrates the shared values at the heart of our partnership.

Day 5

With a final breakfast, you can reflect on the true exhilaration you will have experienced on this journey, in the company of like-minded people, having created memories and friendships that will last a lifetime.

Dutch built luxury Contest 59CS yacht features bespoke handcrafted Bentley interior

Bentley Motors has collaborated on the creation of a truly unique yacht interior to match the exquisite cabin design of a customer’s Continental GT V8 Coupe.

Contest Yachts has collaborated with Bentley Motors on the creation of a truly unique yacht interior for the shipyard’s latest launched Contest 59CS further to an idea from famed Russian musician and director Garik Sukachev, matching the exquisite cabin design of the Continental GT V8 Coupe.

As a creative person, Garik Sukachev brings uniqueness to everything he touches, and the idea here was to combine the fine work of the two outstanding yacht and car constructors. This twinning-concept has been in this thinking from long ago, and in close cooperation the two companies were able to fully implement this vision.

Notably, this build project also started in the very special anniversary year of 2019, with Mr Sukachev celebrating his 60^th birthday, Contest Yachts their 60^th anniversary, and Bentley Motors a 100^th anniversary.

Our family has been building premium class sailing and motor yachts for more than 60 years.  We are well-known for our thorough approach to customisation, which allows us to fulfill the expectations and preferences of every customer. This project is the ultimate example of this approach – working with Bentley to turn a customer’s dream into reality.

In hand with the premium Dutch yacht builder, the specially commissioned, bespoke custom trim was created by craftspeople at Bentley Design Services which, in much the same way as Contest Yachts, specialises in creating customised solutions for the brand’s clients.

The luxurious cabin of the commissioning Bentley Continental GT V8 Coupe already incorporated Hotspur Red leather, combined with contrasting Linen beige hide – styling which Bentley was then able to help recreate inside the new 18-metre Contest 59CS, a new model first launched in late 2020.

This project was an opportunity for Bentley Design Services to showcase some of their many skills in a truly unique collaboration. Bentley cars embrace qualities of craftsmanship and styling that are only achieved at the highest level of nautical design.

Contest Yachts is a shipyard known for extraordinary attention to detail in engineering and outfitting, and this custom Bentley interior accords with this well, the interior panelling showcasing Bentley’s signature diamond-in-diamond stitching. This unique quilting requires exactly 712 stitches per diamond and a high level of skill to produce on a specially-commissioned machine, exclusive to Bentley Motors. And outside, the attractive deep blue hull of the Contest yacht complements the Light Sapphire finish of the Continental GT V8 Convertible Coupe. It is not clear whether the color is exactly the same. It would be cool. The light makes it appear to be a completely different shade of blue.

The Bentley styling sits well within the yacht’s principal interior design by the yard’s long-term design associates Wetzels Brown Partners who worked closely in hand with both Contest and Bentley teams to achieve this remarkable outcome.

Classified for all-ocean sailing and certified by Lloyd’s Register, the world’s leading classification and compliance authority, the truly go-anywhere 18-metre Contest 59CS was first launched in late 2020. As with all Contest yachts, this model is available with a wide range of interior accommodation plans, and as with the Bentley interior can be outfitted to exclusive requests. At Contest Yachts they call it ‘Building Dreams Together’.

Prices are unknown, but expect a lot. The boat alone will cost around €2,300,000 (we guess, Contest Yachts doesn’t really talk about prizes), with another €260,000 for the Bentley. And then we do not include the costs of the collaboration. But hè!… then you have something special!

Bentley Continental GT Speed Convertible: also 659 hp

British Bentley Motors is launching its new Continental GT Speed Concertible hot off the heels of its recent announcement of the Continental GT Speed. The Bentley Continental GT Speed ​​Convertible is structurally the same as the coupé version, but with a cloth roof and slightly more weight.

The latest convertible is the most powerful and driver-focused convertible within the Continental GT range. The engine, handbuilt in Crewe, is the most advanced 12-cylinder engine in the world. For the latest Continental GT Speed ​​Convertible, Bentley increases the engine power by 24 hp. This brings the 6.0-liter W12 TSI engine, of which the carmaker has already added more than 100,000 into its models, to an output of 659 hp. The power source is therefore just as strong in the four-seater Convertible as in the two-seater Bacalar.

The car’s dual-clutch, eight-speed transmission shift is twice as fast when the GT Speed is in Sport mode, offering a smooth and effective transition between gears. Equipped with all-wheel steering and electronic rear differential enhance vehicle stability and agility. It features an upgraded version of Bentley’s renowned 6.0-liter W12 TSI engine, set to deliver an 0-60 mph in just 3.6 seconds (roughly, 0-100km/h in 3.7 seconds) with a top speed of 335 km/h. (208 mph).

The sound of the Speed ​​will be sportier than that of the normal Convertible, but will remain civilized. After all, it remains a neat British car.

The Speed ​​Convertible’s chassis has been tuned for more sportiness. The rear wheels steer for sharper steering and at the rear we find an electronic limited slip differential. The same applies here: don’t expect an antisocial hard chassis, because you don’t buy a Bentley for that. In the first place it remains a grand tourer. For those who want to finish things off in terms of sporty approach, the Continental GT Speed Convertible has the option of carbon-ceramic brakes, extra powerful brakes that, among other things, yield a weight saving of more than 30 kilos.

To offer an extra element of the elevated Bentley experience, the roofless nobleman in sports suit has special 22-inch wheels. Customers have the opportunity to choose between three finishes, all unique to the forged Speed wheels. The exterior detailing of the new convertible model include dark tint grilles, the Speed sport sills and badging.

The Continental GT Speed Convertible is fitted with a tailored, Z-fold roof that can be stowed or deployed in as short as 19 seconds, transforming the luxury coupe into an open-top Grand Tourer. There are seven exterior roof colors available to choose from, as well as eight interior roof liner finishes.

The interior is lavishly decorated. Bentley folds several square meters of Alcantara and leather into the interior and here too special Speed ​​badges cannot be missed. Bentley also has various leathers and different flavors of wood veneer available for the Continental GT Speed.

Inside the luxury automotive includes an alcantara steering wheel and diamond in diamond quilting, alongside neck warmer technology that seamlessly integrates into the heated and vented seats to offer an extra element of the elevated Bentley experience.

Bentley Beyond The Collection

Bentley’s Beyond The Collection presents three new fragrances which follow the previous editions: Majestic Cashmere, Exotic Musk and Wild Vetiver from last year, en Rich Pimento from early this Year. 

Now a new trio of scents marks the first female collection from Bentley Fragrances, inspired by exotic flowers which express different personas in scent, colour and emotion. The new creations are: Mellow Heliotrope, Radiant Osmanthus, and Vibrant Hibiscus. Born in Grasse, the world’s perfume capital, master perfumer Karine Dubreuil Sereni composed this beautiful trio of fragrances. 

Celebrating the proud heritage of the Bentley Girls, these three unique perfumes interpret individual characteristics of unique flowers, expressing the character of the exceptional women who wear them. Satisfying appreciation of high-quality materials, meticulous craftsmanship and originality – the fragrances are a true individual statement of personalities.

Bentley Mellow Heliotrope

I adore heliotrope. To me, it is one of the most feminine notes in the perfumer’s palette. But though it is extremely feminine, it is elegant rather than provocative. When I composed it, I imagined a soft, sensual woman who wants a scent that is delicately enveloping yet very diffusive and unforgettable.

Expressing a sweet and compelling character is Heliotrope, a purple Mediterranean flower with a soft vanilla and anise scent. A hint of strawberry with vanilla and praline enhance Mellow Heliotrope’s subtly romantic blends, leaving an elegant and unforgettable trail.

The woman I envisioned when I composed Radiant Osmanthus is self-confident and joyful, but never ostentatious. She exudes charm naturally. For me, the apricot colour and scent of the Osmanthus flower reflect her sunny character, while its suede facet express her inner depth.

Radiant Osmanthus opens with radiant notes of neroli and citrus, giving an elegant dose of refreshment to the fruity, apricot aromas of osmanthus, which is additionally sweetened with peach in the heart. The base combines creamy woody notes and subtle musk.

Bentley Vibrant Hibiscus

I had to invent the scent of hibiscus, since there is no extract, so I drew my inspiration from the intensity of its colour and the fragility of its corolla. Between the lushness of a Turkish rose and the freshness of peony, my hibiscus accord expresses the contrasts of a passionate woman’s personality.

Lacquered in silver, the lozenge-shaped body of the flacon becomes as reflective as the mirrored surface of a mountain lake, and half-transparent, half-opaque like its crystalline waters. Its surface echoes the polished silver metal shoulders of the flacon, embossed with the striking Bentley emblem. The silver cap is ringed with Bentley’s signature knurling.

Haute automobile: Bentley Mulsanne Ares Coupé

With its Coupé, made upon the superbe Mulsanne sedan base, Ares Design brings the sporty elegance of the Bentley’s two-door grand tourers back to life. A new chapter in the long history of collaborations between historic English manufacturers and Italian coachbuilders, a story that is now almost a hundred years old.

In the finest tradition of handcrafted bespoke coach-building, Ares Design has crafted this stunning two-door Coupé for Bentley Mulsanne, based on Bentley’s four-door saloon.

Throughout the 20th century Bentley was one of the most popular marques for coachbuilders so it’s perhaps fitting that Ares Design chose Bentley’s four-door Mulsanne as the basis for this spectacular recreation of a Bentley Coupé. Using cutting-edge 21st century techniques Ares Design has created an exquisite Bentley Coupe for the modern era.

The Bentley Mulsanne Ares Coupé will be built in extremely limited numbers for customers who appreciate Bentley’s British style but would like a bespoke Italian handcrafted creation. Carrying out such a comprehensive reimagining of the classic vehicle is a formidable task but, by creatively fusing modern and traditional methods, Ares Design has built a stunning, exclusive vehicle.

Exterior

Before the physical work began, Ares Design carried out a full three- dimensional scan of the four-door Mulsanne and, once this data had been processed, it provided the basis for Ares to complete the necessary CAD work on the car. Extensive computer modelling resulted in a new look for the Coupé, with a significantly more graceful roof-line and re-profiled C-pillars integrating seamlessly into its rear wing structure.

The angle of the rear window has been adjusted and a new section of the rear deck between the base of the window and the original boot lid was constructed.
As a result of the attention to detail put into the project, the whole conversion of the Bentley Mulsanne Coupé carries full TüV approval.

With its Coupé, Ares Design has utilised the time-honoured principles of coachbuilding to transform Bentley’s Mulsanne into a unique and desirable Coupé that offers the most exceptional level of craftsmanship. The conversion process included moving the B-pillar further back to facilitate the fitment of longer front doors. New rear quarter panels were fabricated from aluminium while the extended doors and the entire central roof panel were constructed from the finest grade carbon fibre.

Fresh chrome surrounds were required for the re-profiled rear windows and roof line while bespoke glass units were commissioned. In its final form, the Coupé is lighter and has better aerodynamics than the original four-door. Also thanks to an Ares Design performance upgrade, the two-door Mulsanne performs as well as its stunning good looks suggest.

Interior

Inside the Bentley Mulsanne Ares Coupé, extensive changes have been made to accommodate the two-door configuration. Bespoke front seats are installed to allow entry and egress to the rear seats and the front seats are trimmed to match the rest of the interior. Unique modifications have been carried out to the rear door trim panels to fit the coupe body style.

By not altering the wheelbase it allowed the Bentley Mulsanne Coupé to have the sleek, elegant design of a true grand tourer, while maintaining the first-class comfort of a sedan. Designed with the most modern technologies, crafted with the best materials, created for the most demanding connoisseurs.

The sporty look of the new, two-door body pleasantly contrasts with the typical, luxurious interior design of the Bentley Mulsanne. Aluminium, wood, leather, carbon fiber: the driving environment can be completely trimmed and customized, for a truly bespoke experience. What do you think of: a front screen infotainment system with 8“ high-resolution screen; satellite radio; a Mulsanne audio system with 14 speakers, two subwoofers, powered through six channels, with digital sound processing.
