NMoto transforms BMW Scooter into Art Deco Golden Age Streamliner

NMoto an exclusive motorcycle manufacturer based out of Miami, has revealed its latest project – the Golden Age. Harkening back to the halcyon days of pre-war motoring when transportation was equal parts speed, style and skill, the Golden Age captures this sentiment in a modern incarnation.

Dubbed the Golden Age, the design is inspired by the 1936 KJ Henderson Courtney prototype created during the height of the Art Deco movement. The carbon fiber body kit features rounded front and rear subframes, a distinct double-nosed kidney grille inspired by BMW’s recent designs, Golden Age badges along the rear, and nostalgic headlights and turn signals. A Diamond Stitch leather seat offers a dash of premium comfort, and the rear FlexCase storage is large enough to fit two helmets.

The BMW C400X was designed to be the ideal daily driver for smooth city cruising, equipped with a 2020 350cc engine capable of tops speeds of over 90 mph and Automatic Stability Control. While mature in appearance, the NMoto Golden Age maintains the bike’s latest specs and technology including Bluetooth connectivity, heated seats, and a multifunction display.

Aside from the Boba-Fett-Like colorway highlighted in the campaign images, ‘Maroon/White’, ‘Red/Black’, and ‘Black/Brown’ color options are also available.

Production is limited to 100 units worldwide, and body kit prices start at $12,490 USD. The full range is now available for order on their website. Come into the beautiful world of NMoto.

Neo retro racer: Ares Bullet

Created to offer enhanced riding pleasure, the Ares Bullet for BMW R NineT has a smoother, yet more responsive riding experience, making the eye-catching bike ideal for short trips and long-distance journeys.

While the bike sports the standard suspension layout, Ares designers incorporated a fully adjustable shock absorber spring to the rear. This permits the rider to switch on, or off, the spring reload and release, allowing them to maximise the Bullet’s engaging handling characteristics.

Drawing its style inspiration from past racers, the Ares Bullet for BMW R NineT sports a typically sharp fairing with an integrated LED headlight.

The striking livery connects the front fairing with the tank and side faring while, underneath the engine, a small carbon spoiler wraps around the exhaust manifolds. While acting as a heat shield, this also adds a final flourish of colour and detail to the underside of the bike. The tank sports black leather knee pads with yellow stitching detail, which is carried through onto the saddle.

The bike’s powerhouse, the 1170cc twin-cylinder boxer engine, remains the same as the donor bike save for the air intake box, which has been removed. In its place are two open conical sport filters, which, along with the remapped ECU, gives the ARES Bullet an all-new and distinctive intake sound, differentiating it from the donor bike.

The Ares Bullet is equipped with a custom-built 2-in-2 exhaust system, designed to accommodate the heat shields and finished in matt black.

To accommodate the new retro-styled tail, which houses the bike’s ECU, the saddle housing sits 4cm higher which, coupled with low-slung handlebars and newly positioned foot pegs, enables the rider to enjoy a sportier riding position.

All new structures (fairing, tail, tank) have been designed by Ares Centro Stile and are made of carbon fibre. All leather components are handmade by the company’s in-house craftsmen, while Ares’ paint department applied the fully customisable and eye-catching livery.

The Ares Bullet for BMW R NineT will be made to order in a limited series of just 25 motorcycles. The order book is now open with delivery two months from order. Come in the beautiful world of Ares.

Arestorque – Ares Café Racer, a new one-off two-wheeled creation by Ares Design

Is it possible to have a customised version of a motorbike already customised?! Well, when we talk about an Ares creation, of course, yes!

As is often the way it all started with a particular request from one of their customers. Already a proud owner of an Ares Scrambler for BMW R nineT, he wanted the Italian coachbuilder to create a sportier road-oriented version of the Scrambler, which could be use for his trips to the California hills, with the option to take some luggage for the weekend.

The Ares Centro Stile and R&D Department set to work on the design and as you can see, produced a unique and beautiful creation, a truly bespoke one-off Ares Café Racer for BMW R nineT that is inspired by the legendary racing bikes of the 1960s.

The starting point was the BMW R nineT itself, with the aesthetic and mechanical changes already present on the ARES Scrambler. The new tank and the mudguards, handmade in carbon fibre and painted by the craftsmen of the Modena factory, along with the characteristic rear double swingarm and double side shock absorbers.

However, this is where the common points with the Scrambler stopped and Ares styling commenced. The wide off-road handlebars are replaced with a pair of sportier clip-on bars. While the front end is perfected by a new LED headlight and a carbon fibre aerodynamic deflector, it is the rear where the most radical changes are found.

The Café Racer is equipped with a new single-seat unit, upholstered in handmade leather and topped with a cover akin to racing bikes of yesteryear. On either side of which is the custom-made frame that can hold two panniers and has space for a blanket or sleeping bag – perfect for a weekend getaway!

From a technical perspective, the Café Racer features the mechanical refinements already present on the Scrambler. Still this time around, the 1170cc two-cylinder boxer engine is equipped with a retro-designed stainless steel 2-in-2 exhaust system with two conical air filters. Along with a new set of street-oriented tyres specifically designed for maximum riding pleasure on the curvy roads of the American coast!

The Café Racer is a motorbike conceived and built for fun, born from the fantasy of an enthusiast, and it is to realize these fantasies and these requests that ARES was born.

Zillers’ Garage Aviation-Inspired R NineT is outlandish and memorable, and a great reminder that we need builders that are willing to throw convention out the window.

bmw-motorrad-ziller-garage-r-ninet-001

There’s a special place in the custom motorcycle scene for motorcycles that eschew practicality, in order to push boundaries. Dmitry Golubchikov – an AMD Championship winner – of Russia’s Zillers Garage has taken motorcycle craftsmanship to a whole new level with his latest R Nine T, commissioned by none other than BMW Motorrad Russia itself, this stunner mixes some old-school sci-fi nostalgia with modern features.

Zillers’ R nineT is outlandish and memorable, and a great reminder that we need builders that are willing to throw convention out the window. Gaze in awe at this customized 2016 BMW R nineT by Dmitry Golubchikov of Zillers Garage. The hand-formed aluminum bodywork is the most striking feature of this build

Spending 10 months building custom parts for the motorcycle from head to toe, pretty much all its components have been replaced, except for the motor, the final drive arm, and just part of the original frame. Aside from the boxer cylinder heads on protruding on either side of the bike, the entire bodywork has been hand-formed with aluminium, carrying a design inspired by aviation.

bmw-motorrad-ziller-garage-r-ninet-002

bmw-motorrad-ziller-garage-r-ninet-003

The arc built above the handlebars double as a functional cockpit, holding a Motogadget Motoscope Mini speedo and other controls, while the tail end holds a sliding storage compartment with an integrated phone charger. Most impressing, however, is the way the bike parks: when not in use, the bike stands completely upright, resting on the lower belly pan. Once you start the bike up, a pneumatic system lifts up the entire bike when you’re ready to go.

Zillers built the entire system from scratch – from turning the pneumatic cylinders, all the way to creating the control mechanism. The system runs inside the forks at the front, and with a revised shock linkage at the back. Between the body kit and the hydraulics, it’s already an impressive build. But Dmitry’s in the habit of paying attention to every last detail – so this BMW has some sweet trim too. The machined aluminum wheels are fully custom; 18” units designed to resemble turbines.

Dmitry also fabricated a stainless steel two-into-one exhaust system, which snakes into the bodywork before emerging in a single muffler on the left. The bulges on each side of the main fuselage hide twin 3D-printed air boxes, kitted out with car air filters.

bmw-motorrad-ziller-garage-r-ninet-004

No sidestand, here. The bike sits flat on its bellypan and then uses a pneumatic system to raise it up into riding position

The outlandish design is complemented by a muted monochrome paint job. Everything wears the same shade of grey – from the body, through to the fork legs, engine and wheels. It’s accented only by subtle pin striping in a lighter grey. A set of oversized BMW roundels add the only glint of color.

There’s no information on whether this custom R NineT will ultimately be for sale, but those who are interested in Zillers Garage’s work can head over to its Instagram page.

The new BMW M760Li xDrive

With the new BMW M760Li xDrive, the freshly launched new BMW 7 Series is gaining a prestigious flagship model. Headlined by its exceptional refinement and supreme power delivery at all times, the 12-cylinder petrol engine with M Performance TwinPower Turbo technology under the bonnet reinforces the new car’s range-topping status. The boldly dynamic driving characteristics of the BMW M760Li xDrive combine with superior ride comfort to make a compelling statement and set a new benchmark in the luxury sedan segment.

The new BMW M760Li xDrive gives a debut to the new M Performance TwinPower Turbo 12-cylinder petrol engine. Concealed under a cover bearing ‘M Performance’ lettering, the 6.6-litre V12 develops output of 448 kW/610 hp* at 5,500 rpm* and peak torque of 800 Nm (590 lb-ft)* at 1,500 rpm* (fuel consumption combined: 12.6 l/100 km [22.4 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 294 g/km)**.

The high-performance unit with leading-edge M Performance TwinPower Turbo technology accelerates the BMW M760Li xDrive from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.7 seconds* on the way to an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). If the optional M Driver’s Package is specified, the speed limiter doesn’t cut in until 305 km/h (189 mph).

Power transfer is via the state-of-the-art eight-speed Steptronic Sport transmission as standard.

The M Performance-specific tuning of the shift programs, delivering sportier gear changes and more instantaneous downshifts throughout the rev range, has been specially adapted to the characteristics of the V12 engine. With its optimal internal efficiency and a gear-change strategy assisted by navigation data, the eight-speed Steptronic Sport transmission contributes to the authoritative driving experience and works seamlessly with the standard Auto Start Stop function.

The innovative Executive Drive Pro suspension system is a passport to dynamic sharpness and unbeatable ride comfort. Active roll stabilisation minimises body movements, and the system teams up with performance tyres, fitted to exclusive 20-inch M light-alloy wheels in matt Cerium Grey metallic, to give the new BMW M760Li xDrive the best driving dynamics in its class – without impinging on ride comfort. The rear-biased BMW xDrive intelligent all-wheel-drive system takes its lead from the available grip levels to distribute engine power to all four wheels as the situation demands. In the process, it delivers the dynamic excellence you’d expect of an M Performance model and a supreme level of performance in all conditions.

Active safety and driving dynamics are also beneficiaries of the standard Integral Active Steering system in the new BMW M760Li xDrive, which complements the more direct steering ratio at the front axle by adjusting the steering angle of the rear wheels according to the situation at hand. This reduces steering effort at low speeds and in dynamic driving, further enhancing agility and active safety. The new 19-inch M Sport brakes, boasting blue metallic brake callipers and M badging, set the seal on the dynamic armoury of the BMW M760Li xDrive and ensure unbeatable deceleration at all times.

The new BMW M760Li xDrive is fitted with the same extensive package of innovative driver assistance systems as all variants of the successfully launched BMW 7 Series model range. The Driving Assistant Plus system includes the Steering and lane control assistant, Lane keeping assistant with active side collision protection, Rear collision prevention and Crossing traffic warning functions.

Meanwhile, the Traffic jam assistant – which involves semi-automated driving – can be used on any type of road. And the Active Cruise Control with Stop&Go function now only requires drivers to press a button to incorporate speed restrictions detected by the Speed Limit Info function. The new generation of the Surround View system now also includes a 3D View and Panorama View option in the Control Display.

In its exterior appearance alone, the new BMW M760Li xDrive embodies the dynamic mission statement of the BMW M Performance Automobiles with unmistakable clarity. The M aerodynamic package with larger air intakes in the front apron and exclusive 20-inch M light-alloy wheels in double-spoke 760M design with matt Cerium Grey finish guarantee an elegantly sporty appearance. The exclusive galvanised Cerium Grey finish for the kidney grille frame and the fronts of the grille bars, along with the front apron strip, the strips on the exterior door handles, Air Breathers, side door trim elements and boot lid handle, all add colour accents, subtly highlighting the special status of the BMW M760Li xDrive within the BMW 7 Series model range and the BMW model line-up as a whole.

Other notable exterior features include the mirror caps, likewise in Cerium Grey, V12 badges on the C-pillars, the M logos on the sides of the car and the xDrive lettering and model badge at the rear. A new M sports exhaust system with flap control generates an emotionally rich V12 soundtrack and adds the finishing touches to the signature M Performance look with its galvanised Cerium Grey twin tailpipe embellishers in exclusive design positioned on either side.

The now familiar BMW M Performance character is also present and correct inside the car. The exclusive M leather steering wheel carries the M logo, has Pearl Gloss Chrome multifunction buttons on its spokes and shift paddles for manual gear changes on the reverse. Door sill plates with an illuminated V12 logo whet the appetite for the driving pleasure to come, while the instrument cluster contains an exclusive speedometer featuring the model designation and a dial now extending to 330 km/h (205 mph). Like the M pedals and M driver’s footrest, the special speedo points to the performance potential of the BMW M760Li xDrive. The area of the centre console around the selector level and iDrive Controller is adorned with a BMW Individual decorative inlay in Piano Finish Black and with V12 badging. The optional Touch Command Panel in the rear compartment’s centre armrest hosts a similar V12 identifier.

The electrically adjustable front comfort seats with memory function and the Fineline black fine wood interior trim strips with high-gloss metal effect team up with high-quality deep-pile floor mats in the rear compartment and an Alcantara Anthracite headliner to generate a luxurious ambience. Exclusive Nappa leather trim covers the seat surfaces, seat side sections, head restraints, door cards, centre armrests and side armrests to round off the elegant atmosphere in tasteful style.

For customers looking to trade the overtly dynamic appearance of their BMW M760Li xDrive for a more discreet luxurious look, the optional BMW M760Li xDrive V12 Excellence is available at no extra cost. This character variant significantly alters the personality of the BMW M760Li xDrive, shedding the M aerodynamic package and adding 20‑inch BMW Individual light-alloy wheels in W‑spoke 646 design high-gloss polished with mixed-size tyres (front: 245/40 R20, rear: 275/35 R20). There is also a high-gloss Black finish for the brake callipers.

Customers choosing the V12 Excellence model can expect their BMW M760Li xDrive to feature a chrome bar extending across the full width of the car in the upper section of the air intake grille. In addition, the kidney grille bars are in Silver with chrome fronts and surrounds likewise in bright chrome. All the other trim elements on the body also come in bright chrome. In place of a model designation, the BMW M760Li xDrive V12 Excellence has a ‘V12’ badge on the boot lid. The exhaust system’s pair of chrome, rectangular tailpipe embellishers are now framed by additional chrome trim.

Inside the car, meanwhile, the BMW steering wheel features wood inlays, and the V12 lettering in the instrument cluster – whose speedometer extends as far as 260 km/h (160 mph) – illuminates when the driver fires up the engine. The comfort-biased exhaust system with its refined soundtrack also helps to accentuate the specific character of the V12 Excellence model.

As in all variants of the new BMW 7 Series, the monitor of the iDrive operating system in the new range-topping BMW M760Li xDrive comes in touch display form. This means customers will be able to navigate around the system in the same way as with modern electronic devices. In addition to using the Controller to operate the system in the familiar style, its functions can also be selected and activated by touching the screen’s surface.

The iDrive system also features the gesture control system presented in the BMW 7 Series for the first time. Hand movements detected by a 3D sensor control infotainment functions in an extremely intuitive and user-friendly fashion. The gestures can be used for a number of functions, including controlling the volume in audio applications and accepting or rejecting incoming telephone calls. There is also the option of pairing a specific gesture with an individual choice of function. Also joining the fray is a new smartphone holder integrated into the centre console, which enables wireless, inductive charging for mobile phones for the first time in a car.

** Fuel consumption figures are provisional, calculated according to the EU test cycle and may vary depending on the tyre format specified.

It is not yet known what the prestigious top version in the BMW 7 Series series will cost. But count on about € 250,000. The BMW M760Li xDrive will be available to order at the end of the summer.

Louis Vuitton x BMW i8

louis-vuitton--LV_News_269_louis_vuitton_bmw_i_partner_01_DI3

French Maison Louis Vuitton, pioneer in the art of travel, has partnered with BMW i to create a tailor-made set of luggage crafted in carbon fibre for BMW i8.

Launching at the New Bond Street store, Louis Vuitton has partnered with BMW to create an ergonomically designed luggage collection to fit with the cars design. When it comes to fashion and cars, Not that I have an i8, but I couldn’t be happier, particularly when it is two brands I am very passionate about, also when Vuitton is the pioneer of the art of travel, and BMW dedicated to the excellence of both its comfort and style. The stunning Damier pattern has been used for this carbon fibre collection but whilst the innovation of the two weekender bags, garment bag and business case is a first for the house, they have not compromised on their heritage of craftsmanship.

BMW_L_Vuitton_packshot_sacs_030

Crafted in carbon fiber. The Weekender GM i8, large and soft travel bag, designed to be handheld or carried on the shoulder, is a perfect fit for the boot of the BMW i8’. With a Louis Vuitton logo laser engraved onto the Damier fabric, it reinterprets one of the house’s iconic shapes.

Whilst retaining soft, the leather detailing and exceptionally sleek body of the pieces have also been designed to rest on top of each other, as well as within particular spaces in the BMW’s first plug-in hybrid vehicle. For example, The Garment Bag i8 sits perfectly on the parcel shelf, whilst the bigger The Weekender GM i8 fits seamlessly in the boot. With each piece incredibly light, the charcoal grey fabric with microfiber perforated lining has a slight tinge of electric blue on its body that will subtly match in with the car. Whilst I can not attend tonight’s launch, I will be taking a look in store very soon to experience this feat of engineering and craftsmanship.

BMW_L_Vuitton_packshot_sacs_008

Crafted in carbon fiber. The Weekender PM i8 is designed to lie snugly on the flat surface of the business case on the back seat of the BMW i8. Like the other pieces of the set, it features a specially designed handle, a natural leather address tag and the famous Louis Vuitton padlock that has become one of the Maison’s best known emblems.

The set of exclusive suitcases and bags have been carefully designed to follow the sleek lines of the most progressive sports car: the BMW i8. Each piece calls on Louis Vuitton’s heritage of craftsmanship and innovation, bringing together leading edge design and materials with exacting, careful construction.

Soft, flexible bags and semi-rigid thermoformed cases have been cleverly calibrated, down to the last millimetre. They stack and fit together in an ingenious way in order to allow the driver to carry their most treasured possessions in style and security, without compromising the comfort and elegance of luxury travel.

Come into the wonderful world of Louis Vuitton.
