Boucheron Quatre En Rose

Boucheron-Quatre-White-Edition-en-combinacion-de-materiales.jpgFrench ‘Haute Joailler’ Maison Boucheron launches a new perfume Quatre En Rose. Sinds I was staying as a child at the Paris Ritz Hotel and waking at the Place Vendôme, I am a huge Boucheron fan, their beautiful watches and its exclusive and luxury jewelry are eye-catching and inspiring. Anytime I see something crafted by Boucheron it is a sensation! For me their perfumes have the same expensive and luxurious status.

Boucheron Quatre En Rose a perfumed melody to light delicateness. Apart from being involved in perfumery, Boucheron is most importantly the brand of an accomplished jeweler, possibly one of the most well-known of the Place Vendôme. Therefore, once having created for over 150 years deluxe pieces of jewelry and watches for women and men, the designer explored the creation of new olfactory treasures to decorate the neck in perfume. However, there are usually connections between the two realms of the brand. Therefore, the Boucheron Quatre ring transformed into a perfume, in 2015. Now, it returns once again and unveils a new side of its character, more sexy, daring and delicate, the choice is Boucheron’s perfume Quatre En Rose.

Quatre en Rose Boucheron, a floral and fruity fragrance accentuating the queen of flowers the rose. Boucheron Quatre En Rose is a perfume that sets its mark as it unfolds. It comes after the more evening time edition of the perfume Quatre Absolu de Nuit. The moment is the morning at the cool of the first break of light. Quatre En Rose grants us the face of a happy and dazzling female, whose cheeks are softly rosy and her smile utterly captivating. The female Quatre en Rose effortlessly brings to mind the smiling appearance. Her perfume is together sexy and captivating, very feminine.

Quatre En Rose is styled as a more ‘casual’ daytime fruity floriental interpretation of the original.

Lingering in our thoughts never to be forgotten, created by Quentin Bisch, Quatre En Rose reveals the style of a floral effusion laced with oriental and fruity tones. As its name implies, this fragrance illustrates the fragrance of the rose, an authentic legend of feminine perfumery. The rose is here boosted by an addictive and sweet note of Davana, matched by the vigor and calm beauty of vetiver. Tangerine, on the other hand, gives more liveliness. Blackcurrant boosts its fruity and radiant presence. Jasmine streams all of its sexy wealth. Ultimately, Quatre en Rose by Boucheron finishes with a woodsy airiness of vetiver, musks and patchouli.

Top notes: Mandarin, Cassis
Heart notes: Rose absolute, Jasmine, Peach blossom, Davana
Base notes: Vetiver, Musk, Patchouli

The flacon of Boucheron’s Quatre En Rose fragrance surely follows the bottle of its forerunners. Designed in a heavy and large glass associated with extraordinary creations. This treasured bottle is influenced by the Quatre ring itself and especially it’s distinct iconic designs of Boucheron ingenuity. Four rings make up its stopper. Created in 1889, the Double Godrons sets up two bands of gold and signifies the union between two lives. The Clous de Paris are influenced by Parisian cobblestones. The diamonds in their pave design capture the light on their shiny gold base owed to the ‘mirror set’ technique, a one of a kind innovation at Maison Boucheron. Lastly, the concept Gros Grain, marvel of goldsmith caps the ring in the most exquisite manner. Boucheron’s Quatre En Rose glass shows up just frosted, reflecting the freshness protected within its bottle.

Boucheron-Quatre-En-Rose-perfumeQuatre En Rose is a unique and beautiful olfactory interpretation of the jeweler’s eponymous collection. Boucheron Quatre En Rose is available as 30, 50 and 100ml Eau de Parfum.

French Maison Boucheron celebrates upcoming anniversary with a striking new campaign

With every passing year, French Maison Boucheron never misses a chance to prove its creativity in the world of jewelry. Yes, in 2018, the house will be celebrating its 160th anniversary and in a very modern, yet sophisticated way. After all, being the first jeweler of the Place Vendôme is a very distinctive fact and deserves a special celebration.

As Boucheron gears up to celebrate its 160th anniversary next year, the luxury French brand has released a new campaign to celebrate some of its most iconic pieces.

Graphic lines make this campaign an eye-catching marvel. It reflects through the contrast between minerals and precious materials the house’s bold style. The ultra-contemporary visuals turn the bronze of the Place’s columns into color and the Paris stone and the green marble that form the arcade of the historical boutique’s façade at No. 26 into graphic patterns. This strongly modern ad campaign perfectly embodies the vision of Frédéric Boucheron introduced in 1858.

It’s not all about the graphic feel of this campaign, as the latter is also a setting where the marvels of the Maison are highlighted in all their creativity. From the iconic Quatre to the Serpent Bohème and other high jewelry creations such as the Lierre de Paris, Boucheron’s most stunning pieces star in the campaign’s visuals.

It’s by combining the efforts of Les Graphicants graphic design studio and photographer Sébastien Coindre that the Parisian jewelry house brings this campaign alive and we must admit that there couldn’t be a more wonderful way to celebrate this history of creativity.

The jewels, for men and women, are distinctive, daring and deliver excellence with striking combinations of golds and textures. Boucheron’s Quatre and Serpent Bohéme collections are available at Boucheron boutiques and selected stores worldwide.

Boucheron Quatre Absolu de Nuit

A new Boucheron fragrance is aways very exiting! Introducing the Boucheron Quatre fragrance for Woman in 2015, created by Nathalie Gracia-Cetto, was modern and daring olfactory interpretation of the Maison Boucheron’s iconic Quatre ring. Strongly assertive and contemporary, it reveals the strenght of character of those who wear it.

After last years Quatre Intense, Maison Boucheron is celebrating a new evening version, even more sophisticated. Quatre Absolu de Nuit, is the olfactory interpretation of the modern and bold iconic ring Boucheron is shrouded in mystery.

Boucheron Quatre Absolu de Nuit for Men

Quatre Absolu de Nuit for Men: a woody-oriental Eau de Parfum, both mysterious and vibrant, sublimated by clary sage, black pepper and Atlas cedar notes. Quatre Absolu de Nuit for men is a fragrance that we owe to the perfumer Jacques Huclier, a well-known designer from the great Maison Givaudan.

The latter chose to dare bold biases and assembled several diametrically opposed ingredients. He started the scent of Quatre Absolue de Nuit for Men by Italian lemon, a fresh and citrus ingredient, combined with more aromatic flavors of sage and lavender, two great classics of men’s perfumery. Nevertheless, this initial freshness is quickly counterbalanced by vibrant, charismatic and spicy notes of patchouli, black pepper and nutmeg. Thus, the initial clarity of this perfume is quickly associated with the incandescence of spices. The whole thing ends up being won by more masculinity. A woody trail of cedar, vetiver and vanilla prevails, creating the addiction of a simple breath.

Boucheron Quatre Absolu de Nuit for Women

Signed by perfumer Nathalie Gracia-Cetto, a very famous nose of the house Givaudan, Quatre Absolu de Nuit for Women: a floriental Eau de Pafum, both sensual and captivating, sublimated by bergamot, pear in syrup and vanilla notes. This one has chosen to work around exceptional raw materials and assembled them with extreme minutia, as could the best jewelers of the house Boucheron.

The whole is flying over a citrus freshness dominated by the presence of bergamot from Italy. Pink berries counterbalance this sensation by more heat while the whole is immediately coated with bitter almond. The gourmandise of Quatre Absolu de Nuit for Women is then relayed by a heart more fruity and floral, assembling jasmine and juicy pear. Finally, a more enveloping and delicate background takes over. Tonka bean is associated with amber woods as well as vanilla and sandalwood. The result is a terribly tempting, gourmand and irresistible perfume.

Drape perfectly: Boucheron Cape de Lumière

Boucheron Cape de Lumière 00

With parents who were both drapers, Frédéric Boucheron spent his childhood with all kinds of fabric and materials around him. Thus, here in this chapter Haute Couture and High jewellery come together and fuse into one. Have a look at extraordinary Cape de Lumière, which looks like both a mantle and a jewellery piece.

When a cape is priced at HK$5.53 million, it’s worth a second (and maybe third or fourth) look. Boucheron’s Cape de Lumière – Cape of Light – from the new Boucheron Haute Joaillerie 26 Vendôme collection is a work of art, and worth its hefty price tag due to the fact that the piece is not stitched from fabric, but rather, is made of gold and diamonds.

The cape was one of the most challenging developments of the 26 Vendôme collection, likening the production process to haute couture fashion. The idea was to create a piece that would be a jewel and a garment. It’s a whole new challenge, a way of reinventing the work of the jeweller by creating the jewellery of tomorrow.

Claire Choisne, Boucheron Creative Director

The claim is hardly an exaggeration. The template for the cape involves 70 hours of work, while the time for crafting the many exquisite details ultimately totals 925 hours. The piece is so named for its shimmering effect when worn, produced by the peacock feather motif, which radiates across the design, and by the many different textures of gold used throughout – matte surfaces paired with twisted chains resembling the ribbed Gros Grain pattern – not to mention all the inset diamonds.

Boucheron Cape de Lumière 01.jpg

The cape, that took more than 925 hours to create, consists of 850 round diamonds totalling 5.26cts, with an 81.62ct citrine stone holding the cape together at the centre. Now that would be the kind of weight we would like to have on our shoulders.

The idea behind this piece was to create something that would function as both a jewel and a garment. The maison’s artisan-jewellers work from the initial sketch, drawn based on the idea that the cape should mimic the soft train of a peacock, enveloping the shoulders of the wearer.

Boucheron Cape de Lumière 02.jpg

The whole production process is carried out on a Stockman dummy, ensuring that the metal work will be supple enough to fit and drape perfectly on human shoulders. The craftsmen give the same attention to detail with this piece as they do with an haute couture clothing piece. The template alone requires 70 hours of work.

The elements of the cape are interconnected by a mesh woven of golden thread, in a modern interpretation of the classic peacock feather motif. The pattern is meticulously hand-threaded by the maison’s artisan-jewellers.

Boucheron Cape de Lumière 04

The precise chiselling of the cape gives it a remarkable suppleness and fluidity, so that it moves and sits on the wearer’s skin like fabric. Upon closer inspection, the delicately twisted chains are inset with diamonds, for a subtle but luxurious shimmer as the cape moves in the light.

Boucheron’s Claire Choisne draws a comparison between the creation of this cape and haute couture clothing, and it’s easy to see why with the production process. Each peacock feather feature has to be adjusted according to the curve and shape of the wearer’s body. The interconnectedness of the features means that if one element is adjusted, the elements to its left and right have to be tweaked accordingly.

Boucheron Cape de Lumière 06a.jpg

Frédéric Boucheron’s favourite inspiration the peacock feather., the largest ‘feathers’ go in the front of the cape, and the artisans set diamonds on the two shapes in a pattern that mimics the effect of light reflection, emphasised by the lines engraved under the central citrine stone. This final touch is what gives the jewellery piece its name – the Cape of Light.

July Birthstone: Ruby

There’s no better way to demonstrate your love than by giving a ruby in celebration of a July birthday. Rubies arouse the senses, stir the imagination, and are said to guarantee health, wisdom, wealth and success in love. Ruby is a variety of the gems species corundum. It is harder than any natural gemstone except diamond, which means a ruby is durable enough for everyday wear. Fine-quality ruby is extremely rare, and the color of the gem is most important to its value.

Rubies do not age. The fire that was locked in their hearts millions of years ago still burns, even after the emperors and empires that fought for them have crumbled to dust and ashes

The most prized color is a medium or medium dark vivid red or slightly purplish red. If the gem is too light or has too much purple or orange, it will be called a fancy-color sapphire.

Ruby engagement rings are said to symbolize love, passion and courage, perfect for a colorful engagement ring that represents your relationship. For those born in July, ruby rings are particularly poignant. If your loved one’s birthstone is the ruby, it is worth considering whether a ruby center stone or side-stones would be a gorgeous choice for their engagement ring.

Boucheron Unleashes Its Latest Natural Beauties

In 1888, before embarking on a long trip, Frédéric Boucheron created a serpent necklace for his wife to wear as a talisman, inaugurating his interest in animal-themed pieces. This year, the French ‘Haute Joaillier’ Boucheron is revisiting that theme with seven new animal motifs, including the Cypris swan bracelets shown here; one features diamonds, the other black sapphires, and both are set in 18-karat white gold (prices upon request). A playful rose-gold hedgehog cuff and a radiant sapphire cockatoo ring are among the collection’s other bejeweled beasts, all of which are handcrafted in the 158-year-old jewelry house’s workshop on Paris’s Place Vendôme.

April Birthstone: Diamond

History of the Diamond as the april birthstone

No wonder they are Cartier’s, Boucheron’s, Bvlgari’s,Chaumet’s, Van Cleef & Arpels (and all those other great jewelers) favorite stones! Diamonds are a thing of beauty and the ultimate gift for a loved one. Thought to be one of the hardest substances on the globe, diamonds date back billions of years. The diamond is the traditional birthst of April and holds significant meaning for those born in that month, thought to provide the wearer with better relationships and an increase in inner strength. Wearing diamonds is purported to bring other benefits such as balance, clarity and abundance.  It’s also symbolic of eternal love, and those fortunate to call April the month of their birth will enjoy the following history behind this rare gem.

Diamond gemstones

Adopted from the Greek work ‘adamas’, meaning invincible, diamonds come in a wide range of colors such as black, blue, green, pink, red, purple, orange and yellow. The color is dependent upon the type of impurities that are present in the stone. Yellow stones have minuscule traces of nitrogen while blue ones contain boron.

 The orgin of birthstones

It’s uncertain how the specific months became connected with the various stones. However, some speculate that their origins date back to biblical times when the breastplate belonging to a priest was decorated with 12 assorted colored gems. As time wore on, the 12 gems became associated with the zodiac and the months connected to it.

This started the tradition of wearing a colored stone each month as a sort of good luck charm. Initially people wore all twelve stones, rotating according to the month of the year to derive the greatest benefit of each stone. Believing that the various gems held magical powers for the individual born within a given month, people started to wear the stone associated with their birth month for the entire year. In 1912, the American National Association of Jewelers designed a list dedicating different gems to various months. What was once thought to be controversial based on its commercialism is now widely accepted as the official birthstone list.

The history and beliefs surrounding the diamond

As told through the Encarta, Sanskrit texts dating back before 400 B.C. found that people associated significant value and wonderment with crystals. There is also significant research that dates back to the 1330s showing diamond cutting in Venice. The diamond trading business flourished towards the 15th century with the opening of Eastern trade routes. Ancient theories touting the magical powers of diamonds were prevalent: some thought lightning bolts formed diamonds, while other theories asserted that diamonds were the tears of god.

The Healing Powers of Diamonds

During the Middle Ages, diamonds were thought to hold healing powers and to cure ailments stemming from the pituitary gland and brain. By heating the crystal and taking it to bed, it was thought to draw out the harmful toxins that were crippling the body. It was believed that diamonds could also have an effect on an individual’s balance and clarity and could boost their energy when combined with other crystals like amethyst.

The diamond as the April gemstone has garnered the hearts of many and is the most coveted crystal to date. Deemed as the King of all birthstones, diamonds make the ideal choice for an April birthday gift. She’ll love you for it! Find a trusted diamond jeweler neer you…
