Nex month American fashion designer Calvin Klein’s will launch the new CK Everyone fragrance, opening a new chapter in the history of the cult unisex fragrance CK One from 1994, inspired by the then generation of youth and their way of self-expression. At the height of its glory, CK One was sold in 20 bottles every 20 seconds.

Created by Alberto Morillas, CK Everyone symbolizes the spirit of the new generation, freedom of expression, the spirit of inclusivity and participation in multiple communities – as told in the press communication. A pure, green, citrusy scent, CK Everyone is announced as ‘a genderless scent for today that celebrates the infinite freedom of self-expression’.

Drawing on the legendary legacy of CK Oone, the new scent is fresh-citrusy and woody, done with environmental awareness in mind. It’s announced as vegan, made from naturally-occurring alcohol and full of ingredients of natural origin (79%), which is why it is advertised as a ‘pure’ scent. Organic layers of orange oil over a heart of blue tea accords, followed by a musky base of cedar wood, together create a complex, energizing composition.

American fashion house Calvin Klein expands its eternity Collection with a new enticing duo fragrances Eternity Flame. Calvin Klein Eternity Flame describes the woman and the man as: ‘a passionate expression…the symbol of devotion, warmth, and affection’. These new perfumes evoke an eternal love and sensuality, smell so passion-ally and seductive that is always inviting you to try them.

Calvin Klein is aiming to rejuvenate Eternity – a best-selling blend inspired by the wedding ring given to the Duchess by the Duke of Windsor – with the help of Oscar-nominated actor Jake Gyllenhaal, supermodel Liya Kebede, and child actress Leila.

Calvin Klein Eternity Flame perfumes are announced to warm a wearers heart with bright fruits and flowery accords nicely mixed together.

Created by perfumer Laurent Le Guernec, Calvin Klein Eternity Flame for Women is announced as an unexpected mix of bright fruits and delicate flowers contrasted with oriental flavors.

Calvin Klein Eternity Flame for Men is also created by Laurent Le Guernec, and from the top, the fruity and aromatic notes are redefined with leather and amber accents. Announced as luxurious and addictive, the fragrance offers and oriental-fougere composition.

The flacons and the packaging reflect the colors of burning fire, with the ‘Fire’ logo in red. The ad campaign continues with the family story and features Jake Gyllenhaal, Liya Kebede and child actress Leila. In January the fashion house will launche the new duo.

It’s been 13 years since Calvin Klein – who created still-recognizable zeitgeist scents like Obsession and Eternity – has released a new fragrance. But now under the helm of chief creative officer Raf Simons, the fashion house is returning to creating iconic scents with the July launch of a new scent, simply called Women. Simons joined Calvin Klein in August 2016 and famously thanked ‘women’ when accepting his Womenswear Designer of the Year honor – his second in two years – at June’s CFDA Awards. Now, he’s making a new mark on the label, collaborating on his first fragrance.

Immediately when I arrived, I looked closely at the various fragrances in the portfolio because it was important for me to continue the stories they captured, which were all iconic and meaningful moments. It became clear very early on that we should create a new fragrance and a new chapter to the story.

To do so, Simons asked perfumers Honorine Blanc and Annick Menardo. They combined Eucalyptus acorns, Alaskan cedarwood and orange blossom to create a ‘woody floral with notes of orange flower and lemon pepper’. It’s an easy, soft, and citrusy/fresh spicy perfume. Calvin Klein Women is a sophisticated scent that has a modern and youthful aroma. This new perfume is created for women who love to look real, to be happy, to have pure emotions and sensations.

To promote the new scent, Simons recruited very talented women; Academy Award-winning actor Lupita Nyong’o and three-time Oscar nominee Saoirse Ronan are the faces of Calvin Klein Women’s campaign, photographed by visual artist Anne Collier, who also co-created the packaging with perfume bottle designer Suzanne Dalton (Collier’s photograph of a woman’s eye is superimposed on the disc-like cap).

Created by Laurent Le Guernec, Calvin Klein Euphoria Amber Gold for Men is a modern fragrance with an exotic twist when compared to the Original, adding to it a distinct richness and mystery. It contains a dark leather accord, incence and vetiver mixed with green and spicy aromas.

The flacons of both fragrances, inspired by the glow of precious amber stones, are redesigned in transparent amber glass with a lux bronzed gradiënt. The opulence and radiance of the golden amber packaging is to highlight the premium, sophisticated and exotic facets of the fragrance.

CK One Summer is representing ‘desert festivals and partying until sunrise’. The aim of this youthful unisex fragrance is to evoke the fiery heart of the desert, with the icy breath of freshness.

Top notes: Lime, Citron, Cucumber
Heart notes: Peppery notes
Bottom notes: Musk, Saffron, Gaiac wood

The top notes of lime, citron and cucumber pose as an icy wave that leads to the heart of a ‘hot pepper trio’ and saffron. The base ends with a guaiac wood accord and creamy musk.

Calvin Klein has launched CK All and continues its tradition of fresh unisex fragrances. CK All is the third pillar version, after the legendary fragrances of CK One from 1994 and CK Be from 1996. The slogan line reads: ‘Be One. Be All. Just Be’.

Calvin Klein CK All is a blank canvas that represents a modern fluidity, where lines blur beyond any identifying markers and labels are cast aside. The individual is embraced as they stand and inclusivity is above all, there is ck all.

Calvin Klein CK All opens with citrus notes including mandarin. The heart of the perfume includes citrus blossom and the Paradisone molecule, an intensified version of the Hedione molecule with the scent of jasmine. The base is warm and oriental, adding a touch of amber. The woody amber citrus was developed by perfumers Alberto Morillas and Harry Fremont, who also did the original CK One.

Calvin Klein CK All comes in an opaque white bottle of identical design as its predecessors.

The photographers: Patrick Demarchelier

Born near Paris in 1943 to a modest family, he spent his childhood in Le Havre with his mother and four brothers. For his seventeenth birthday, his stepfather bought him his first Eastman Kodak camera. Patrick Demarchelier learned how to develop film, retouch negatives and began shooting friends and weddings.

In 1975, he left Paris for New York to follow his girlfriend. He discovered fashion photograpy by working as a freelance photographer and learning and working with photographers such as Henri Cartier-Bresson, Terry King, and Jacgue Guilbert.

Patrick Demarchelier has lived in New York City since 1975. He is married to Mia and they have twins. Since the late 1970’s he has shot the covers for nearly every major fashion magazine including American, British and Paris Vogue. He has also shot covers for Rolling Stone, Life, Newsweek, Elle, Glamour and Mademoiselle. He has photographed many advertising campaigns, including Farrah Fawcett shampoo in 1978, the Brooke Shields doll in 1982, Lauren by Ralph Lauren, Cutty Sark, and a Calvin Klein ad with Talisa Soto and did iconic ad campaigns for Giorgio Armani, Celine, Chanel, Christian Dior, Gap, Gian Franco Ferré, Gianni Versace, Elizabeth Arden, Lancôme,  L’Oréal, Yves Saint Laurent, Revlon, TAG Heuer and Louis Vuitton. He was also the primary photographer for the book On Your Own, a beauty/lifestyle guide written for young women by Brooke Shields Since 1992 he has worked with Harper’s Bazaar, becoming its premier photographer.

Patrick Demarchelier was the first non-British photographer to click the British Royal Family.  In 1989 Patrick Demarchelier became, by request, Her Royal Highness Princess Diana’s official photographer. This relationship lasted until her untimely death in 1997. Patrick Demarchelier shot four beautiful covers of Diana for the British Vogue published in 1991, 1994 and 1997.

In 2005, he was awarded the contract for the Pirelli calendar. Demarchelier is referenced in the 2006 film The Devil Wears Prada, when the ‘dragon lady’, Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep), asks Andy (Anne Hathaway), on her very first day on the job, “Did Demarchelier confirm?”, leaving her utterly confused. The first assistant Emily calmly jumps into action and calls his office, replying, “I have Patrick!” He also appears in the documentary The September Issue which is about Anne Wintour and American Vogue.

He continues to be a force in fashion photography and has interestingly been referenced in The Devil Wears PradaSex and the City, and America’s Next Top Model.

In 2007, Christine Albanel, French Minister of Culture, honored Patrick Demarchelier as an Officer in L’ordre des Arts et des Lettres (Order of Arts and Literature).

Demarchelier appeared in a cameo in the film version of Sex and the City; he can be seen taking pictures during Carrie Bradshaw’s fashion shoot for Vogue magazine. He was featured prominently in the sixth episode of Cycle 15 of America’s Next Top Model. He was listed as one of the fifty best-dressed over 50s by the Guardian in March 2013.
