Dubai welcomed influencers, editors and A-listers to witness the unveiling of the new Chopard perfume collection. Here’s why it’s a must-have…

It’s no secret that Chopard is often inspired by middle east art and culture, not only in their precious jewels – and watches –  but also in their fragrances. Chopard is renowned for expertly blending an elegant array of scents to create an olfactory experience quite unlike any other. Following the news that the Maison is creating a new fragrance collection, titled Gardens of Paradise, Chopard held an exclusive soirée at the courtyard of the One and Only Hotel in Dubai to officially launch the four-flacon collection.

Chopard have launched four luxury fragrances capturing the various scents of the Arabian Gardens of Paradise.

Gathering the city’s top editors and personalities, as well as guests of the Swiss jewellery brand such as Chopard Chief Executive Officer Caroline Scheufele and British-Moroccan model Nora Attal, the elegance of the opulent dinner was echoed through beautiful table settings.

I wanted to recreate the peaceful and restoring aura of the oasis, and it’s tradition of hospitality. I imagined the reassuring scents of vegetal ambers, the touch and feel of warm sand in the powerful shadow of sky-reaching palm trees.I wrapped everything into the rich aroma honey, to create a special sense of bliss and abundance.

Alberto Morillas

Created by master perfumer Alberto Morillas, the new Gardens of Paradise perfume collection offers the most luxurious scents inspired by the Arabian gardens. Named Miel d’Arabie, Rose Seljuke, Jasmin Moghol and Orange Mauresque, Morillas worked with bold natural ingredients such as calabrian bergamot, indian sambac jasmine, damascena rose and provence honey to bring together a series of beautiful and expressive fragrances. Our top pick? Miel d’Arabie that’s reminiscent of precious spices, tea infusions and sweet pomegranate, blended with a floral and balsamic aromas of honey extract.

Blending ingredients such as milk and honey, the divine delights of the desert will surely become the must-have scents of Spring.

Following a career in music, cinema and fashion, singer Rihanna is now entering the jewellery market thanks to a new partnership with luxury Swiss jewellery house, Chopard. The new collection – simply named Rihanna Loves Chopard – is the culmination of a creative synergy between the Grammy winning singer Rihanna and the brand’s Co-President and Creative Director, Caroline Scheufele, and features both a jewellery and high jewellery line inspired by the singer’s Carribean heritage.

Rihanna in recent years has worn Chopard jewels on red carpets at major events so the two described the move to collaborate on new collections as natural.

I have always been in love with Chopard’s exquisite jewellery, so to actually design collections with them is something I still can’t believe. It was a really incredible process and I learnt so much! I can’t wait for everyone to see it.

The debut pieces from the Rihanna Loves Chopard Joaillerie, nine spare pieces follow a modernist style and re-create Chopard’s signature chain link Ice Cube motif with deep forest green ceramic and warm 18 karat rose gold.

For the second collection Rihanna Loves Chopard Haute Joaillerie collection include a pair of simple, elegant 18 carat diamond earrings, and a vibrant pair of chandelier earrings made with a rainbow of blue, pink and yellow sapphires rubies and more… These may look familiar to those who closely watch the singer’s every move. At the recently held Grammy Awards, she wore the floral earrings and on the March 2017 cover of Harper’s Bazaar, Rihanna wore the transformable diamond earrings. Chopard said the high jewelry collection is inspired by Rihanna’s island roots – the lush gardens of Barbados and the bright colors of Carnival.
