Chanel La Pausa De Chanel

The Mediterranean sun. The endless sea. The scent of orange blossoms and fresh lavender blooms.

The architecture of a simple, inviting, and peaceful Provençal villa. In the 1920s, high on the ridge of RoquebruneCap-Martin, Gabrielle Chanel had a house built in her image and filled it with private references: five windows above the front door in homage to her favorite number, 5, a banister inspired by Aubazine, the place where she grew up, and a large star above her bed, symbolizing her fascination with constellations. Mademoiselle Chanel gave this haven, a true respite from the hustle and bustle of Paris, a name: La Pausa.

Chanel has designed a collection replete with earthy, woodsy, golden shades. A celebration of the characteristic light that shines on the Riviera during the first days of spring.

Far from the city, it was where the designer came to unwind for more than 20 years, accompanied by some of her dearest friends, including Jean Cocteau, Misia Sert, and Salvador Dalí. She had her picture taken in her garden, surrounded by one-hundred-year-old olive trees and flowers, and threw casual, festive parties,

Her art de vivre permeates the entire property, from the garden to the luxurious bathroom. Everything exudes her style. As soon as spring arrives, the rooms are flooded with the gentle sunlight of the South of France, which makes La Pausa appear to shine as if untouched by time. Both in harmony with nature and located in the idyllic setting of the Côte d’Azur, La Pausa is an essential, joyful testament to the history, taste, and heritage of Gabrielle Chanel.

A warm, sunny collection

The beauty of this legendary villa inspired the Spring-Summer 2022 collection. The light of La Pausa, dear to Mademoiselle, is the central theme that guided the Maison’s Makeup Creation Studio. The natural, earthy colors and sparkling sunlight surrounding the villa are at the heart of this collection. The ‘sunbeam’ button motif is designed to represent the Riviera embossed on the powder products.

Chanel has also incorporated the soothing, healing spirit of La Pausa into the collection with the launch of Rouge Coco Baume. This moisturizing, tinted lip balm has all the qualities of a lipstick.

Rouge Coco Baume, color and care

Rouge Coco Baume is the major release of this new makeup collection. Just like the villa, Chanel’s latest lip balm is both chic and comforting. Its pared-down, all-white packaging can distinguish it. Rouge Coco Baume was designed in the same style as the iconic Rouge Coco line without compromising on effectiveness or aesthetics. The spirit of La Pausa inspired Chanel Research and the Chanel Makeup Creation Studio to develop a lip care product with unique sensory qualities, combining the color provided by a lipstick with the moisturizing benefits of a balm.

The skin on the lips, which is remarkably thin and lacks a natural protective film, requires special care. Rouge Coco Baume keeps the lips looking beautiful day after day with the help of Olive Oleoactive, a new active ingredient produced specifically for Chanel and an echo to La Pausa’s hundred-year-old olive trees.

It is in the heart of the Mediterranean Sea, on the island of Sardinia, where the olive trees selected by Chanel Research flourish. Derived from the leaves and fruit of olive trees, the Oleoactive is obtained through a patented, sustainable extraction process called oleo-eco-extraction. Containing a high concentration of polyphenols and omega-9s, this exclusive active ingredient provides antioxidant protection throughout the entire day. To provide complete care for the lips, Rouge Coco Baume combines a moisturizing active ingredient, shea butter, and three plant waxes at the heart of the Hydra Boost Complex, the signature ingredient Rouge Coco line. Its silky formula glides onto the lips and keeps them moisturized all day long.

Lip balms, the color of summer flowers

The balm is available in six shades, each of which conjures the image of the flowers that grow around La Pausa. From deep burgundy to fresh pink to the energizing power of fuchsia, Rouge Coco Baume is available in a full range of colors. Easy to apply, it effortlessly enhances the lips with natural-looking, buildable color. Upon application, the lips are coated in a sheer wash of color which, layer by layer, transforms into a more intense, semi-matte finish. A transparent, pearlescent white shade completes the collection and intensifies the lips’ natural radiance.

Proven Lip care benefits: Rouge Coco Baume moisturizes the lips immediately upon application (+29%) and provides hydration for up to 8 hours (+24%). Lips feel 47% more comfortable upon application and up to twelve hours afterward (+50%). It reduces feelings of dryness and tightness for up to 12 hours. The lips instantly look and feel smoother, and their contours appear more defined. After 28 days of use, they feel softer and less chapped (-23%), looking more beautiful with each passing day.

Eyes that sparkles in the colors of the Côte d’Azur

The collection’s eye makeup creations are infused with the soft, sunlit hues of the landscape surrounding La Pausa. A unique new version of Les 4 Ombres features the ‘sunbeam’ motif and the villa’s enveloping shades. It includes a khaki brown color reminiscent of the garden’s olive trees, accompanied by gold and copper shades that evoke the dazzling sunlight of the Côte d’Azur. This light also inspired the new, golden beige shade of Ombre Première Laque, which makes the eyes shimmer with a luminous, natural glow.

Chanel Les 4 Ombres Méditerranéen contains an iridescent platinum, a gold highlighter, a beige copper, and a brown khaki.

Ombre Première Laque

A warm, sun-kissed complexion

The two Blush Lumière exclusive creations, designed in coral pink and terracotta brown shades, warm up the complexion and leave it glowing. The coral shade is ideal for daytime wear, the brown for a bold, chic look. Both blushes provide coverage that can be adjusted depending on one’s needs, thanks to their easily blendable, creamy powder formula.

For a complete sun-kissed look, Baume Essentiel subtly illuminates the complexion, creating the effect of a holiday spent in the sun. Its shimmery coral pink shade livens up the cheeks with a natural, healthy glow. The face is left looking radiant and warm.

Summer nail colors

La Pausa’s color scheme is vast with its yellow walls and softly sunlit, tiled terracotta floors. This contrast, evocative of the south of France, is embodied in the two nail polishes from the Spring Summer 2022 collection.

Chanel Spring Summer Makeup Collection: Desert Dream

If the eye is a camera with its shutter open – always recording, turning experience into image – it is Lucia Pica’s unerring instinct to train her lens on visions less familiar. Seeking inspiration for her Spring Summer 2020 collection, the Chanel Global Creative Makeup and Color Designer took a photographic trip to the center of the ancient desert, an expedition that uncovered a completely new perspective on color.

I was looking for something poetic, like a memory – a natural filter that makes everything look dreamier.

Lucia Pica

The collection boasts a total of 15 products but if you must choose one thing to stock up on, it would be the Baume Essentiel in a limited-edition Golden Light shade. The unreleased colour was first seen backstage at the runway show back in September 2019 and was used to give the models’ complexion an effortless warm and illuminated sun-kissed glow. Besides applying the multi-use glow stick on the highs of the cheeks, forehead, bridge of the nose and chin, it can also be used on the eyelids and lips to cast a soft glow for a fresh finish.

If the eye is a camera with its shutter open – always recording, turning experience into image – it is Lucia Pica’s unerring instinct to train her lens on visions less familiar. Seeking inspiration for her S/S 2020 collection, the Chanel Global Creative Makeup and Color Designer took a photographic trip to the center of the ancient desert, an expedition that uncovered a completely new perspective on color.

Initially drawn to the desert for its famous orange dunes, sacred cave paintings and lunar plains, Lucia Pica was soon captivated by the uncanny silence of the vast nothingness she found there, its powerful stillness moving her to reappraise the landscape through fresh eyes.

Shifting her gaze toward the quieter hues of the quartzes, basalts and shales scattered across the desert floor, and forests bleached by the relentless sun, Lucia Pica unearthed a muted palette that is surprising new territory for her. Desert Dream is characterized by peachy rose tones, cool browns and the romantic undercurrents of mauve, whose shimmering, at times metallic textures echo the desert’s hidden treasures.

It was beautiful in the desert but quite unexpected. In the desert, there is almost a universe of one single, dominant color – mauve – which really came to life with the particular photographic process we used.

Lucia Pica

Like distant memories, the dreamy Polaroid pictures at the heart of Desert Dream lend their sensual soft focus and painterly abstractions to a makeup collection that is perhaps Lucia Pica’s most poetic take on femininity yet. Using the prints’ soft colors to bring subtle emotion to the face – mysterious, mauve intensity to the eyes, planes of warm light on the high cheeks and red-hot desert heat on the lips – Lucia Pica evokes a womanly state of inner calm, self-possession and utter contentment.
