The high-class range now welcomes the new Huile Douce, or Gentle Oil for Hair and Body that combines citrus notes and White Musk with a Jasmine floral accord.

Just like a beam of light on a bare skin, the oil nourishes and conveys feelings of comfort and well-being.

This lightweight oil softly and sensually envelopes the body in its delicate scent. A citrusy freshness combined with the heart of Jasmine, and a base of White Musks. Created with 80% natural ingredients, the formula is enriched with sunflower oil, which has been chosen for its moisturizing and calming properties.

As soon as it is applied, the Gentle Oil moisturizes and softens the skin. Its lightweight texture penetrates quickly into the skin to nourish and restore without leaving any greasy residue. For soft, nourished skin, it should be used right after bathing and showering, and applied on damp skin. It also doubles as a hair oil, which makes the locks much softer, more flexible, and shiny. Finally, the oil is designed to layer with any Les Exclusifs De Chanel fragrance, and since it moisturizes skin, it actually prolongs and intensifies the scent.

A new destination Chanel Paris-Riviera

Chanel Paris-Riviera-01.jpg

French Maison Chanel launches a new perfume for both men and women simply named Paris-Riviera. Chanel Paris Riviera is all you need to have if you want to look stylish, modern, and memorable.

Launched in 2018, the Les Eaux de Chanel collection opened a whole new realm of olfactory sensations in the world of Chanel fragrances: one of freshness and elegance in any situation. Inspired by Gabrielle Chanel’s favorite destinations, and created by Olivier Polge, Les Eaux de Chanel adds a new destination: Paris-Riviera. Rare and exclusive, the new motionless escape will be available for one year starting June 1, 2019

Paris-Riviera is a floral and luminous fragrance that reflects the joyful, sunny spirit of the Côte d’Azur in the 1920s.

Olivier Polge

The mere mention of its name conjures up images of a coastline winding its way between the Alps and the Mediterranean. Bringing the promise of azure blue and dancing sunlight, the Riviera evokes an enveloping softness and the lazy days of summer. From the far south bordering Italy and Monte Carlo to the Var, artists and creators from around the world were drawn to this Mediterranean coast as early as the 1920s. Thanks to her friend Misia Sert who introduced her to Venice, the gateway to the Orient, Gabrielle Chanel began sojourning on the Riviera in 1920.

Gabrielle Chanel at her villa La Pausa, Roquebrune

She loved driving to Monaco with the Grand Duke Dimitri or travelling south on the Train Bleu, a means of transport made famous by Serge de Diaghilev who wrote a ballet by the same name and entrusted the costume design to Mademoiselle Chanel. She could often be found on the Côte d’Azur during the Roaring Twenties, one day on the Duke of Westminster’s yacht in Monte Carlo, another at her regular haunt, the Hôtel de Paris in Monaco, or at the Société des Bains de Mer resort known for its legendary parties. Gabrielle Chanel also frequented Cannes, where she opened a boutique, and joined the painters and writers who flocked to Saint-Tropez, which was but a fishing port at the time.

The Côte d’Azur dream of the 1920s is what guided the development of this new fragrance. A sun-filled Eden that was a magnet for artists. The flawless architecture of the villas in those days. The bright and happy atmosphere of party nights….

Olivier Polge

But a little to the East, on the heights of Roquebrune, is where she chose to point her compass and have her villa La Pausa built. Mademoiselle oversaw every last architectural detail, and had olive groves and fields of lavender planted. She made it her permanent vacation home, where she entertained a number of celebrities such as The Begum Andrée Aga Khan, Begum Om Habibeh Aga Khan, Jean Cocteau and Salvador Dalí. There in her beloved southern France, Gabrielle Chanel wove a tapestry of moments suspended in time and joyful memories.

The fantasy-filled world of the Riviera inspired perfumer-creator Olivier Polge to compose a luminous and elegant fragrance.

Woven with Sicilian and Calabrian citrus, Chanel Paris-Riviera invite you to travel, to escape without reason and sail away. With Les Eaux de Chanel, there is no need to go anywhere to savor the scent of faraway places on the skin.

chanel-paris-riviera-06.jpg

The perfumer noticed a remarkable lightheartedness in the pictures of Gabrielle Chanel surrounded by friends, her face upturned to the sun, and incarnated it with a fragrance of Mediterranean flowers bathed in fresh citrus. He teamed jasmine with a unique quality of neroli from the orange blossoms found in the South of France.

Top notes: Petitgrain, Orange zest
Hart: Jasmin, Neroli
Basis: Benzoin, Musk

Chanel Paris-Riviera is a pleasant fragrant citrusy scent with hints of flowers and green notes very soft and truly romantic. As many Chanel perfumes, this one is not an exception of being remarkably sensual, warm spicy, not too pungent, yet long-lasting and luring.

For years, we have worked with a cooperative in Vallauris that distills orange blossoms grown in the region’s private gardens. The owners of bitter orange groves bring the petals picked from their trees to this cooperative to be processed on location. The local climate yields an extremely pure essence.

Olivier Polge

Chanel Paris-Riviera is instantly recognizable on the skin: a refreshing veil of orange peel and petit grain. Then emerges the pairing of jasmine and neroli with enveloping fullness. Over time, an irresistible softness fuses with the floral impression : it is the work of benzoin balm and sandalwood. The airy signature scent of the Les Eaux de Chanel collection creates a snapshot of summer with a single spray. A promise of azure blue and sun on the skin. A one-way trip to a legendary Mediterranean coast.

Chanel Paris-Riviera-07.jpgThe flacon of Paris – Riviera remains the same as the previous editions of the collection. Simplicity and elegance are reflected in the clear lines of the glass and the  cap engraved with the iconic double C and wrapped in a corrugated cardboard case that evokes the rippling of the sea water as it recedes from the beach and leaves its marks in the sand. Its special pump encourages generous perfuming with an enveloping mist that has the effect of a soft and delicate cloud.

Available in limited edition from June 1, 2019 to May 31, 2020 at Chanel Boutiques and on Chanel.com. Chanel Paris – Riviera is available as 125ml Eau de Toilette. Come into the wonderful world of Chanel.

Les Exclusifs de Chanel box set revisits iconic scents

Chanel has created a new set of mini perfumes from the collection ‘Les Exclusifs de Chanel’, which draws its inspiration from the French brand’s history. A limited edition which will go on sale on February 17, 2017, exclusively at select Chanel Beauté sales points.

chanel-les-exclusifs-coffret-4

While you’re bound to be familiar with No 5, No 19, Coco Mademoiselle and perhaps a few more Chanel perfumes, Les Exclusifs are the real gems. Created from 1922 onwards, these are the most rare and luxurious scents in Chanel’s armoury, ranging from florals to leathers and orientals. Each one is inspired by a key element, person or place in Coco Chanel’s life, from her Parisian apartment, 31 Rue Cambon, to her dearest friend, Misia

Exquisite precious materials, elegant bottles, timeless fragrances: ‘Les Exclusifs de Chanel’ was created between 1922 and 2016 by renowned perfumers with close links to the French fashion and beauty house. Ernest Beaux, Jacques Polge, and Olivier Polge have come up with their own interpretation of a place, texture, meeting or symbol loved by Gabrielle Chanel. Together they form a unique collection, taking us on a perfumed journey through Chanel’s history.

The collection consists of 15 4ml perfume bottles: 14 Eau de Parfum and one Eau de Cologne. An opportunity to (re)discover and appreciate a selection of rare fragrances which include hesperidium, woody, floral and oriental scents.

Fans of unusual perfumes and collectors will be pleased to discover that this set contains ‘Bel Respiro’, a floral evocation of spring, ‘Sycomore’, a woody scent based around vetiver, ‘Coromandel’ with its incense, benzoin, and patchouli notes, the oriental scent ‘Cuir de Russie’, the aromatic-floral-powdery ‘Jersey’, and the woody and fruity ‘N°18′.

The set also includes ’31 rue Cambon’, ’28 La Pausa’, ‘N°22’, ‘1932’, ‘Gardénia’, Beige’, Bois des Iles’, ‘Eau de Cologne’, and ‘Misia’, a fragrance created by Olivier Polge.

This ‘Les Exclusifs de Chanel’ set of 15 mini perfumes will go on sale on February 17 for €280, exclusively at Chanel Beauté stores and the brand’s e-shop.

Oh, Boy: Chanel launches new fragrance

16_boy_chanel

Fashion designer, Coco Chanel is well known around the world for her fabulous fashion line worn by all the A-list celebrities. What many people don’t realise is, Coco (who’s real name is Gabrielle) was raised in an orphanage which is where she was taught her sewing skills.

After having a brief career as a singer she became friends with, Étienne Balsan and stayed with him just outside of Paris where she lived as a ‘kept woman’ in his mansion, and this is where she began to mingle with Balsans wealthy companions and this is when she met a man who would change her life forever, Arthur ‘Boy’ Capel.

Captain Arthur Edward ‘Boy’ Capel (1881 – 22 December 1919) was an English poloplayer, possibly best remembered for being a lover and muse of fashion designer Coco Chanel.

Born in Brighton, Sussex, Arthur Capel was a ship-owner, politician, tycoon and polo player . He was the son of Arthur Joseph Capel, a British shipping merchant, and his French-born wife, the former Berthe Andrée A. E. Lorin (1856-1902), and he had three sisters. But today he is better known for his 9 year love affair with Coco Chanel.

naamloos

His affair with Chanel apparently began in 1909, when he became acquainted with the then 26 year old mistress of his friend Étienne Balsan. In that time he was already an apparently wealthy self-made man and he supplied Chanel with financial backing, and financed Chanel’s first shops. His own clothing style, notably his blazers, inspired her to put a squared masculine touch on her classic clothing styles, and creation the Chanel look. If it wasn’t for Arthur’s money or style then Chanel would never had had the funds or fashion muse to make what is one of the most well-known designer brands in the world.

The couple spent much time together at fashionable resorts such as Deauville, but.. he was never faithful to Chanel. Their relationship lasted nine years, and even after Capel married in 1918, he continued his affair with Chanel until his death in late 1919.

Arthur tragically died in a car crash on Monday 22 December 1919, allegedly en route to a Christmas rendez-vous with Chanel. A roadside memorial was placed at the site of the accident, consisting of a cross bearing the inscription:

A la mémoire du capitaine Arthur Capel, Légion d’Honneur de l’Armée Britannique, mort accidentellement en cet endroit le 22 décembre 1919

He was buried with full military honours at Fréjus Cathedral, in the Provence Alpes Côte d’Azur region in southeastern France, on 24 December 1919. After his death Coco began wearing black during her grieving process and she told a friend that the world would mourn with her which is where the ‘little black dress’ evolved from, and why black is no longer tied in hand with association with death but more with elegance and class. Chanel claimed Arthur Edward ‘Boy‘ Capel was the love of her life.

An exceptional Fresh Aromatic fragrance infused with the timeless elegance

We were so busy waiting for Chanel’s reinterpretation of their No. 5 fragrance titled L’Eau (slated for a fall release) that we didn’t see this one coming at all! The new scent from Chanel is a unisex fragrance created by the house’s master perfumer Olivier Polge. It also becomes the latest (17th) addition to the Les Exclusifs collection and just like Misia (also an Olivier Polge creation), it was inspired by one of Chanel’s closest friends: Arthur ‘Boy’ Capel.  Gabrielle Chanel considered him as more than her soul mate; he was her double and her alter ego. Inspired by their love, Boy Chanel is a vibrant, perfectly balanced scent that challenges tradition and transcends gender.

My way of working on this fragrance was really not to try to make a unisex fragrance but really more to dive into men’s fragrance…and to show how well it could be worn by a woman. So it was not to try to create an in-between fragrance, but a very masculine fragrance. And — like many other things in life — gender is given by the person wearing it.

Olivier Polge

Boy is a masculine fougère with main accords of lavender and rose geranium sourced from the south of France. The composition also includes lemon and grapefruit, a note of rose, orange blossom, sandalwood and heliotropin, plus a hint of vanilla and musk accords. Like the others in the Les Exclusifs collection, it is contained in a simple rectangular bottle, and will become available worldwide this month in in two sizes, 75 and 200 ml Eau de Toilette.

You need this — and so does your boyfriend!

Chanel Coromandel

les-exclusifs-de-chanel-packshot-default-122290-8800911196190.jpg

Les Exclusifs de Chanel, a unique collection of fragrances, composed in the past by Ernest Beaux, perfumer to Mademoiselle Chanel; composed in the present by Jacques Polge, House of Chanel master perfumer. Each work draws inspiration from the life of Gabrielle Chanel: poetic testimonies to legendary places, materials she loved, and the symbols that always followed. An essay in the perfumer’s art; a timeless statement of style.

Chanel Coromandel, a spirited oriental fragrance that reveals itself by interrupting its amber vibrato with dry notes and finally settles into a long, restrained, voluptuous accord. Could there be any more beautiful homage to the exquisite Chinese lacquer screens that lined Mademoiselle Chanel’s apartments and made her almost ‘faint with happiness’?

Chanel Coromandel, an exquisite scent from the Les Exclusifs de Chanel collection is available as 75 and 200ml. Eau de Parfum.
