When I see red, it better could be Guerlain Habit Rouge L’Instinct

In 1965 Parisian Maison Guerlainpresented Habit Rouge, a tantalizing fragrance that redefined men’s perfumery and the male beauty industry as a whole. Its warm and spicy-ambery fragrance for men, offering a unique masculine olfactory signature at the time. Its name pays homage to the jackets worn by equestrian riders during this period.

Now, the French Maison has unleashed the power of Habit Rouge L’Instinc, a flanker of the original fragrance of 1965, These two worlds collide, separated by generations of fragrance trends and technological advancements. In this contemporary scent, Guerlain aims to reinvent Habit Rouge with the spirit of freedom.

Maison Guerlain has utilized design cues from the original design. The flacon is shaped like a square with the same badge in the center of the glass. A red cap sits atop an atomizer. Protruding through the transparant sides is a light gold juice, maintaning similar colour prompts compared to the original.

Created by Delphine Jelk, Habit Rouge L’Instinct is announced as portraying the passion of an aromatic and woody fragrance, untamed by nature, featuring animalic and vegetable characteristics.

Habit Rouge L’Instinct features an assumed note breakdown of zesty Bergamot at the top amidst a refreshing grapefruit and an apo calyp tic absintha accord. Down in the heart is rose, which is a delicate new touch to the olfactive concoction and a tribute to how far modern perfumery has come since 1965. The portion of the breakdown concludes with hemp, a note known for its psychoactive marijuana aromas. The base is where this fragrance becomes an ode to the original Habit Rouge. Leather and vanilla were staple accords in the original release, becoming traiblazing notes for their time. Giving a wet earth scent, patchouli is presented in two qualities, heart and essence, and still finds abundant success in today’s modern perfume style.

Shalimar Millésime Vanilla Planifolia

Shalimar was born in the middle of the Roaring Twenties, at a time when Paris was fascinated by the mysteries of the East. Inspired by the legendary love that united the Emperor Shah Jahan and Princess Mumtaz Mahal in 17th-century India, Jacques Guerlain composed a legendary fragrance with typical creative daring, using vanilla as the cornerstone of his creation. The latest iteration of the cult-classic Shalimar fragrance, the Shalimar Millésime Vanilla Planifolia Eau de Parfum has arrived, a limited edition flanker to 1925’s Shalimar, and follows 2020’s Shalimar Philtre de Parfum.

The new composition, by perfumer duo Thierry Wasser and Delphine Jelk, is dedicated to the beloved perfume ingredient vanilla. The Maison’s loving tribute to one of the most iconic and luxurious essences in its palette. Overdosed in the composition, Guerlain’s signature vanilla tincture reveals all its facets and enhances the sillage of the iconic oriental scent.

Millésime pays homage to the key note in Shalimar’s legendary trail: vanilla.

Part tribute, part innovation, Shalimar Millésime Vanilla Planifolia adopts the graphic codes of the bottle on a pedestal created by Raymond Guerlain in 1925. The famous ‘bat’ label is paired with typography in Art Deco-inspired geometric lines. A leather tie encircles the neck: an evocation of the fragrance notes of the Vanilla Planifolia tincture that distinguishes this unique composition.

Guerlain is one of the rare Perfume Houses to manufacture its own tincture of vanilla. This ancestral process is passed on to perfumers from generation to generation. Entirely produced in the factories of the House, the vanilla tincture is made from pods from organic farming of exceptional quality.

Coming from Madagascar, these are received fresh at the Orphin factory and then manually cut using a cutter – a tool that Jacques Guerlain was already using at the time of Shalimar’s creation… Finally, they are macerated in alcohol from organic wheat farming for several months. This process allows them to develop the absolutely unique richness of their aromas.

Guerlain Iris Torréfié the surprising marriage of iris and coffee

French Maison Guerlain will launch this autemn Iris Torréfié. Iris Torréfié is part of Guerlain’s Haute Parfumerie Collections, fragrances made for dedicated lovers of rare perfumes who appreciate exceptional raw materials and refinement in each and every detail. The perfume evokes the cozy atmosphere of Parisian cafes with the notes coffee and precious iris.

Perfumer Delphine Jelk used An incredibly noble material, majestic iris blossoms in this new chapter of L’Art & La Matière, namely Iris Pallida, and surrounded it with gourmand spicy notes, like cardamom, bergamot, coffee, ambrette seeds, vanilla, woody tea…. There is also the certain ingredient opopanine, a balsamic note which is usually referred to as ‘Shalimar amber’.

A collaboration between La Maison Guerlain and artist Claudine Drai, L’Heure Blanche follows in the footsteps of the Maison’s iconic perfume L’Heure Bleue, released in 1912. Pure, restrained, profound, L’Heure Blanche represents the promise of a blank canvas, the possibilities of a new beginning.

Perfumer Delphine Jelk was inspired by the unique, poetic world of the aforementioned French visual artist and created an ethereal, milky-musky fragrance with an iris note. Thierry Wasser also worked on the composition. The universe they conjure with this scent is ‘very white, soft, with figurines of women or angels, between dreams and reality’.

The iconic ‘bee’ flacon of L’Heure Blanche is completely white and matte, reflecting the artistic world of Claudine Drai. Since 2017, American actress and activist, Angelina Jolie has been the muse of Mon Guerlain, the French Maison’s most recent feminine fragrance

After the Eau de Parfum original from 2017, Mon Guerlain Florale and Mon Guerlain Eau de Toilette from 2018, and the Mon Guerlain Bloom of Rose edition from 2019, French Maison Guerlain launches Mon Guerlain Eau de Parfum Intense.

Actress Angelina Jolie is also the face of Mon Guerlain Eau de Parfum Intense. Since 2017, Ms Jolie has been the muse of Mon Guerlain, the Maison’s most recent feminine fragrance, created by the duo of Master Perfumer Thierry Wasser and Guerlain Perfumer Delphine Jelk. According to the brand, she is ‘a multi-faceted, strong, free, and sensual woman’ and is the perfect ambassador for the perfume.

The Mon Guerlain perfume collection is recognizable for the combination of lavender and vanilla (tonka beans). In the new Eau de Parfum Intense version, the earthy aspect of the Mon Guerlain composition is emphasized by a patchouli note, which, along with vanilla and creamy sandalwood, creates an intense character of this fragrance with a focus on its base. Two types of vanilla are used in the fragrance – vanilla from Madagascar and vanilla from Tahiti.

Mon Guerlain Eau de Parfum Intense offers a special iteration of Guerlain’s ‘quadrilobé’ flacon and features a glass weight and copper band and a rose gold palette. It takes its name from the stopper of an alchemist’s bottle – which is crafted from one piece of glass to resemble four lobes.

Guerlain L’Homme Idéal Cool

French Maison Guerlain launched the new L’Homme Idéal Cool for summer 2019, a flanker of the Original L’Homme Idéal from 2014. The rest of the editions from the line include L’Homme Idéal Cologne from 2015, L’Homme Idéal Eau de Parfum from 2016, L’Homme Idéal Sport from 2017 and L’Homme Idéal L’Intense from 2018.

The ideal man is a myth. But with L’Homme Idéal Cool, Guerlain has made his fragrance a reality.

Now there is one more, with the release of the refreshing L’Homme Idéal Cool. Created by Thierry Wasser, with help from Guerlain perfumer Delphine Jelk, Guerlain L’Homme Idéal Cool is conceived as a woody scent that allows you to stay refreshed and cool no matter the heat. It is built on a surprising blend of mint, almonds and woody notes.

Almond, the olfactory seal of the L’Homme Idéal line, is re-orchestrated by the freshness of three ‘waves’ of notes: Bergamot, sweet orange, aniseed and mint for a lively zest with an aromatic and slightly spicy character; heart notes of orange blossom water, aquatic notes and almond give a floral dimension and a long-lasting freshness; and base notes of patchouli, vetiver and ambroxan provide that underlying woody scent. and give character and depth to the scent.

Heading up the new L’Homme Idéal promotional campaign is French model Aurélien Muller, who can be seen striking a pose for each of its five fragrances.

This early spring, French Maison Guerlain will launch Mon Guerlain Bloom of Rose, a new edition of the contemporary Mon Guerlain line that combines lavender and vanilla notes and is represented by actress Angelina Jolie. The Mon Guerlain collection contains the Eau de Parfum original from 2017, Mon Guerlain Florale, and Mon Guerlain Eau de Toilette, both from last year.

Mon Guerlain Bloom of Rose represents a call to women to live their lives to the fullest and to enjoy the moment. The composition reportedly celebrates the pleasure of being true to oneself. A new rosy-inspired version of the original Mon Guerlain coming with warm and deliciously entrancing notes.

Guerlain launches a new edition perfume with an exquisite composition named Fall Flowers Porcelain Edition. Guerlain Fall Flowers Porcelain Edition is created in association with Arita Porcelain Lab in Japan – maker of one of the most famous and luxurious porcelain dishes in Japan.

Guerlain and Japanese porcelain producer Arita Porcelain Lab have again merged their know-how to put a new spin on the ‘inverted heart’ bottle. In this special edition inspired by the world of flower markets and named ‘Hana Matsuri’ which means ‘flower festival’ in Japanese, the bottle is transformed into porcelain using Arita Porcelain Lab’s unique time-honoured know-how, first mastered in 1804. Renowned for its pure, radiant white, Arita Izumiyama’s porcelain has been adorned with a delicate, hand-drawn floral design by the Arita artisans. Now Maison Guerlain is launching a new perfume version of LUI, which will satisfy both men and women. From French language, LUI means she/his.

Feminine. Masculine. Why choose? LUI is a perfume that loves to stir up trouble. Neither totally feminine nor truly masculine, it is both at once. Guerlain is inspired by a generation that is free from the norms of the genre, and has the idea of a decidedly universal perfume.

Guerlain LUI is announced as a floral, woody and spicy scent. The creation is signed by the perfume duo of Thierry Wasser and Delphine Jelk. The two of them wanted to surprise with an unexpected scent that mixes genres and creates a new one; LUI strives to be ambivalent and complex, but unique and singular in its “alchemy” that is revealed on the skin.

The composition focuses on an accord of benzoin, in its complexity and its different facets. It opens with pear, cloves along with benzoin and spicy carnation notes. The base calms on a woody layer made of leather, vanilla, musk and smokey leather.

 

LUI - Guerlain's New Scent Feminine And Masculine At Once

 

The beautiful Art Deco bottle is elegant, black and lacquered, reminiscent of a Chinese tea box from the 18th century. It relies on the aesthetics of the Guerlain legacy and lends the style and anagram of the name of the floral-aldehyde fragrance LUI, which was created by Jacques Guerlain in 1929.

Guerlain reveals a new side to ‘L’Homme Idéal’ with an Eau de Parfum

The cult of Guerlain’s ideal man continues with a new ‘L’Homme Idéal’ fragrance, capturing the qualities that characterize the perfect gent: intelligence, beauty, charm, humor and kindness.

The new version was crafted for the French luxury brand by Guerlain master perfumer Thierry Wasser and Guerlain perfumer Delphine Jelk. Together they reinterpreted the signature ingredient of the original scent, the almond, to create the new Eau de Parfum.

This more intensely captivating almond aroma is matched with bergamot and a selection of spices. This is complemented with notes of Bulgarian rose, incense and the vanilla tincture so dear to Guerlain. At its base, this woody oriental scent reveals coppery notes plus sandalwood and tonka bean.

The beveled shape of the original Art Deco style bottle remains unchanged, with its strong, square shoulders. However, the new version comes finished in a matte amber shade.

‘L’Homme Idéal’  is now available in three variations, with this Eau de Parfum adding to the existing Eau de Toilette and Cologne.

Guerlain ‘L’Homme Idéal Eau de Parfum’ is due out April 2016.
