The fashion house of Yves Saint Laurent presents his latest creation, the new fragrance ‘My Paris’. Yves Saint Laurent used the city of light and fashion as an inexhaustible inspiration for its perfumes. After the famous lines that started with the 1983 Paris and 2009 Parisienne. Mon Paris is announced as a dazzling fragrance that represents a modern olfactory interpretation of love, free from all the obstacles, dedicated and intense.

The fragrance, created with Firmenich perfumers Oliver Cresp, Harry Fremont and Dora Baghriche invites us to lose the sense in the heart of a dizzying Paris, and follow the crazy crazy love. Between passion, love and freedom, courage and femininity, the fragrance blends the sensuality of White Musk hypnotic agreement of the flower of Datura and intensity of an exceptional Patchouli. ‘My Paris’ is the fragrance for lovers who like to live the intensity of “l’Amour Fou.”

The campaign shot by French film direction duo Clément Durou and Pierre Dupaquier features Canadian model Crista Cober and French actor Jérémie Laheurte shown together in various parts of Paris, including a club, the Metro, near the Eiffel Tower and on the Opéra Garnier’s roof, during both day and night. The still ad was photographed by Billy Kidd.

The Noses: Elie Roger and Estee Lauder ‘Knowing’

For many years in her life, my sister used Estée Lauder’s White Linen, created by the legendary Sophia Grojsman for Estée Lauder in 1978, and: Knowing

But who was the perfumer behind Estée Lauder’s Knowing, a chypre of roses tangled up with dark moss? For many years, Lauder, like many other companies, didn’t put the perfumers into the limelight, and this is why Elie Roger’s name is not often linked with Knowing if you search for the information online. Roger worked for the fragrance house of Firmenich, and he signed both Knowing (1988) and Clinique Wrappings (1990). While his portfolio wasn’t as extensive as that of some other perfumers, he had a distinctive style, and both Knowing and Wrappings remain beloved classics.

A real beautiful creation. The top notes begin with the floral freshness of mimoza, pittosporum, sweet rose and tuberose, combined with sparkling fruty notes of plum and melon. There are floral notes mingling with a sweet woodsy note of patchouli and iris and spicy clove and laurel. The chypre base includes precious woods (sandalwood), vetiver, patchouli, oakmoss and civet. Knowing is a warm and elegant woodsy scent for a sophisticated and self-confident woman.

Elie Roger passed away on Nov. 19, 2010, five years ago, after a long career, which started in 1946 in Grasse, France, his hometown. He worked for 20 years at Firmenich, both in New York and Paris, and he received the American Society of Perfumers’ Lifetime Achievement Award in 2001. Since he crafted two American classics as well as some other interesting fragrances, it’s well-deserved recognition.

Versace Eros Pour Femme

Versace has launched a new fragrance for women, on the back of the popular men’s edition Eros, from 2012.

The women’s fragrance named Eros Pour Femme, we talked about earlier, is packaged in a glamorous gold coloured flacon, made by perfumers of the Firmenich company Alberto Morillas, with Olivier Cresp and Nathalie Lorson coming together to create the new composition.

The composition of the new perfume for women Eros Pour Femme opens with Sicilian lemon, Calabrian bergamot and pomegranate accords, with a heart of lemon, sambac jasmine absolute, jasmine infusion and peony. The base incorporates sandalwood, ambrox, musk and various woody notes.

The campaign images are shot by photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, with supermodel Lara Stone, seen in a white Atelier Versace dress and golden gladiator sandals, starring as the face alongside male model Brian Shimansky.

The fragrance bottle Eros Pour Femme is rounded and embellished with a prominent relief Medusa symbol on the central part of bottle and the stopper, as well as the label’s iconic Greek motif around the edges. It is made of glass and embellished with metallic golden details and cap.

Instead of a box, the bottle will be packed in a small case which opens on the sides, and will be available as 30ml, 50ml and 100 ml EDP.
