Touche Éclat is one of those cult products that has never really died down in popularity. A highlighter for some, an undereye concealer for others, it’s meant to add ‘ribbons of light’ on the face. And while the brand has more or less retained the formula and the clicky pen dispenser – how satisfying is it to press and release that smooth, glorious liquid – we were glad see new additions like more inclusive colours.

Everyone has different skin texture. The easiest comparison is to compare (skin) to fruit: apples, oranges and peaches. The apple skin type is super smooth and shiny with no pores. Secondly, you have an orange, which is the skin type with more pores. Lastly you have the peach, which has visible fine hair.

Start from the centre of the face and work outwards. With the stippling brush work in small circles and build the custom coverage that you want.
Bumpy, Pore Prone Skin (The Orange)
To achieve flawless skin, dip the brush into the foundation and stamp it across the skin. Then blend the foundation using the bare minimum coverage.
Fine Hair Face (The Peach)
Use less than one pump of foundation and avoid adding more texture by using too much product. Be conscious in the direction that you apply the foundation, work downwards with your brushstrokes. Follow the same direction as your hair. Then blend.

Maison Chanel’s Healthy Glow Gel Touch Foundation makes a welcome addition to the range of Les Beiges foundations. Let’s just say it is Chanel’s take on the perfect tinted moisturiser − with moisture being the operative word.
This lightweight formula is fast absorbing, but leaves the skin with a refreshed, dewy and lustrous appearance, perhaps because it is packed with hyaluronic acid derivatives, enabling it to retain the skin’s natural moisture. The formula boasts 56% water, and is enriched with hyaluronic acid to ensure 8 hour long hydration. It’s definitely one for the dry skinned gals out there, you’ll get a sheer glossy coverage that covers up some general redness and discoloration. The medium coverage, gently scented gel allows the complexion to peep through, giving a smooth, even finish that can be touched up and perfected, without looking streaky, but doesn’t do much to hide blemishes or scarring.
It also contains SPF 25 and Kalanchoe extract, an active botanical ingredient with protective properties, which makes it perfect for using during the summer months. It is also available in a range of 9 skin tones.
