Givenchy Eau de Givenchy Rosée

Pink Roses GIF

In the fast world we live in today, it is very hard to re-invent a new and different perfume. French Maison Givenchy launches Eau de Givenchy Rosée, a new flanker to its iconic and timeless fragrance Eau de Givenchy launched in 1980, as a remake of the original from 1980.

Inspired by Hubert de Givenchy’s gardens in the South of France, Eau de Givenchy represents ´a moment of freshness suspended in time that feels like it could last forever´.

The newly updated aroma is created by the famous master perfumer François Demachy and has a new citrusy/floral aroma to become a new hit sensation on the market, just like the original perfume. The fresh floral-musky fragrance is designed to match the gentle, pastel pink color of its packaging.

Top notes: Mandarin, Osmantus tea
Heart: Rose, Jasmine Sambac, Water hyacinth
Base: Patchouli, White musk.

Givenchy Eau de Givenchy Rosée comes as a lighter and pleasantly citrusy fragrance with a soft base made of patchouli and green water hyacinth. The additional mandarin note just adds a revitalizing and fresh approach to this new irresistible Givenchy perfume.

Come into the beautiful world of Givenchy.

A portrait, Jacques Cavallier Belletrud

Jacques-Cavallier-Belletrud

Renowned perfumers often leave their mark with a single famous creation that changes the industry, but a few do so with not one – or two – but many different perfumes. Perfumer Jacques Cavallier is just such a figure, having changed our scented world with such industry changers as Jean Paul Gaultier’s Classique, Issey Miyake’s L’Eau d’Issey, Lancôme’s Poême and Nina Ricci’s Nina. He has created perfumes for Maison’s as famous as Christian Dior, Givenchy, Rochas, designers like Giorgio Armani and Stella McCartney, and niches like Caudalie and Eau d’Italie.

Although Jacques Cavallier has one of the most extensive backgrounds in natural scent materials, it was inventive use of Calone-1951, the component sometimes referred to as ‘watermelon ketone’ that brought him the most attention for his early creations. He brought a freshness and light to perfumes like L’Eau d’Issey that re-imagined what a fragrance could be.

Jacques-Cavallier-Belletrud-Test-Flacon

As a schoolboy in Grasse, Jacques Cavalier Belletrud would walk by an imposing portal. He had no idea what sat behind the wrought iron gates that so intrigued him. Little could he have imagined that, in 2016, this very place would become his creative workshop.

From my earliest childhood I heard all about perfume. Creating scents is like breathing for me – it’s just the obvious thing to do.

Jacques Cavallier Belletrud

Jacques Cavallier was fittingly born in 1962 in Grasse, France, the third in a series of perfuming men. Like his father and grandfather before him, he dedicated himself to the study there in his home turf.

Jacques-Cavallier-Belletrud-Test-01

At the age of eight, Jacques Cavallier Belletrud went to his father, and told him he wanted to follow in his footsteps. He learned perfume notes the way other children practiced piano scales. When he got good grades in school, his father allowed him to weigh out formulas. The day after receiving his high school diploma, he began working in a perfume factory in Grasse, where he learned to distill flowers.

He studied French and Spanish at the University of Nice, and at 18, he created his first formula – but his father reminded him that becoming a perfumer takes much more than mixing a few scents together. It would take a lot of hard work to be hired at the famous perfume and flavor company Firmenich that he met Alberto Morillas, with whom he collaborated on many perfumes, and where he would spend the next 22 years.

Jacques is a perfumer of great variation and considerable range. His work is intensely wearable, and it may be due alone to this singular quality that he was awarded the Prix François Coty at the Prix International du Parfum in 2004.

For a long time Jacques Cavallier Belletrud worked for Firmenich, a company that produces perfumes for other brands, he moved on to the LVMH group (Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessey SE) in 2012, where he works together with François Demachy as in-house master perfumer, and becoming the exclusive perfumer for Louis Vuitton. Named Maître Parfumeur of Louis Vuitton, he traveled the world for four years to perfect the first collection of Louis Vuitton perfumes. The French Maison hadn’t released any scents since the mid-twentieth century, marking new territory in creative exploration for them.

Eau de Givenchy

Givenchy-Eau-de-Givenchy-Perfume-.jpg

When you seek for freshness and lovely aromas you may get confused with the variety of perfumes available nowadays on the market. This summer, Givenchy invites us to try a new refreshing and pure aroma designed to please both men and women, Givenchy Eau de Givenchy.

Givenchy Eau de Givenchy is the new updated and new stylish interpretation of the original fragrance launched in 1980. Today, the new fragrance is all about a greeny/citrusy and fresh perfume inspired by the gorgeous south France gardens in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat.

Inspired by the south of France, Eau de Givenchy captures the smoothness of orange blossoms disclosed by the zesty citrus orchards and only subverted by comforting musks. A moment of freshness suspended in time that feels like it could last forever.

What can be more thrilling and intriguing than to emanate such a nice, soft and delicate aroma with a surprising daring smell. Givenchy Eau de Givenchy is composed by famous perfumer François Demachy as a burst of fresh citrusy ingredients nicely combined with flowers and wood elements.

Givenchy Eau de Givenchy is available as 100ml Eau de Toilette. Come into the beautiful world of Givenchy.

Christian Dior Poison Girl Unexpected

Christian Dior Poison Girl Unexpected Banner.jpg

This spring, 2018, Maison Dior launches a new perfume for women that is described as sourly at the beginning and candy, in the end, thus making a perfectly balanced composition. Christian Dior Poison Girl Unexpected follows Poison Girl perfume launched in 2016 but comes in a more freshly, modern and sourly/sweet composition.

With Poison Girl Unexpected, I wanted to bring the strong, contradictory sensation of a sour candy into a fragrance. I played with the contrast of a fruity note that would swell into a spicy, sexy accord. A ginger note slightly seasoned with a dash of salt was the obvious answer. It conveys all the expressive charm of those tart candies that explode in your mouth and then give way to sweetness.

François Demachy

Poison Girl Unexpected by Christian Dior is a ‘radically pop inspiration. A sudden, lightning-fast sensation that sends sparkling shivers down the spine, then rounds out with a sugary softness’.

Christian Dior Poison Girl Unexpected Flacon

Even though the name of the perfume, Poison Girl Unexpected, inspires an intense, pungent, strong aroma it still has the sour side that nicely balances the aroma thus making it smell gorgeous and luring. This perfume opens to impress with fresh nuances of lemon along with spice ginger note nice mixed with floral accords of Damask rose. The base calms with enveloping Tonka bean notes along with a delicate note of sweet vanilla and musk.

Top notes: Ginger. Lemon, Blood orange
Heart notes: Damask rose
Base notes: Musk, Tonka bean, Vanilla

The design bottle remains the same as the original version, yet filled with a more bright pink color. Christian Dior Poison Girl Unexpected is available as 30ml rollerball travelsize, 50 and 100ml Eau de Parfum.

Very cool: Christian Dior Homme Sport Very Cool Spray

Christian Dior Homme Sport Very Cool Spray Robert Pattinson..jpg

French Maison Christian Dior is delighting its fans with one more fresh woody/citrusy perfume for men, Homme Sport Very Cool Spray. This summer, Dior men will find the new aroma very light, daily, casual and modern.

I modulated Dior Homme Sport according to this new spray process. Its unprecedented scale by cloud diffusion of micro-droplets has a physical effect on the perfume. It’s an unexpected challenge, which really interested me.

François Demachy

Signed up by the Dior in-house perfumer Francois Demachy, Christian Dior Homme Sport Very Cool Spray opens with fresh citron, grapefruit, blood orange note. Francois Demachy reduced the sharpness of the Italian citron in the upper notes and left more room for the red orange, so the opening is more fruity than bitter, along with floral accords of lavender, rosemary, spice ginger, oriental nutmeg and Elemi resin notes. The base calms with vetiver, cedar, amber wood and sweet vanilla notes. This sporty, yet elegant perfume creates an air of romance.

Miss Dior: December 1947 – December 2017

invitation christian dior 70ansmissdior

Seventy years ago the perfume Miss Dior was officially launched, after having received its debut at the Maison’s first haute couture show, on 12 February 1947. We take a look at the history of  an iconic fragrance, conceived by Christian Dior as ‘a perfume that smells of love’, and reinvented today by François Demachy as an Eau de Parfum that’s more sensual than ever.

For Christian Dior, perfume was ‘the indispensable complement of the female personality’. When creating his couture house, he dreamed to being able to give his flower-women a fragrance that ‘smells of love’. With the perfumer Paul Vacher, he developed a floral chypre, which he sprayed liberally throughout the salons in where his first collection was to be shown. This new scent went against the powdery perfumes of the time. Dedicated to Catherine, his beloved sister, Miss Dior erupted into life as the perfect accompaniment for the happy and liberated young woman of the New Look.

Christian Dior Baccarat Miss Dior 1947

1947, Christian Dior Miss Dior in handmade Baccarat perfume bottle and stopper, cased crystal white cut to clear, gilt details (7 1/2 in).

Officially launched in December 1947, this olfactory revolution took form in a bottle conceived as an object of rare luxury and designed according to the same exigencies as haute couture, because Christian Dior regarded himself as equally couturier and perfumer. He came up with a crystal amphora that alluded to the harmonious silhouette of the En 8 line in his first collection. The couturier was involved in each stage of its creation and turned to the expertise of the best glass masters in France. In 1950, echoing the modernist impulse of the time, and at the same time as his Verticale collection, he designed a more geometric and sober bottle, ‘cut like a suit’. Engraved with the houndstooth motif dear to the couturier, this bottle, which is still the one that holds Miss Dior today, it set off with a satin bow. This ultimate couture touch, whether in metal or embroidered by hand in the workshops of 30 Avenue Montaigne for the more exceptional editions, represents the immutable link between couture and perfume.

Christian Dior Miss Dior Eau de Parfum

70 years on, Miss Dior succeeds in conserving its couture spirit and continues to capture the Maison’s revolutionary vision, especially in the new Eau de Parfum developed by Perfumer-Creator François Demachy and focused around the sensuality of the rose de Grasse and the sexy aura of the damask rose.

This declaration of fragrant love is embodied by Natalie Portman, in a fringed raffia-embroidered haute couture dress whose feminine curves and unexpected use of materials passionately encapsulate the spirit of the iconic Miss Dior.

Miss Dior for Love

Maison Christian Dior will show up this autumn with a new edition of one of their most famous creations Miss Dior, with a more elegantly flower aroma, Miss Dior Eau de Parfum.

The in-house perfumer Francois Demachy again created a thrilling perfume for women advertised with slogans like ‘Miss Dior for love’, ‘Dior for love’ and ‘And what about you? What would you do for love?’….

Top: Lemon, Orange and Pink pepper
Heart: Damask rose, Grasse rose and Jasmine
Base: Patchouli and Rosewood

The new Miss Dior for love is all about a romantic fragrance composed of elegant roses, jasmine, freesia along with fresh lemon and mandarin notes perfectly balanced with spices. The base is made of rosewood and patchouli.
