Guerlain Shalimar Souffle de Parfum

Four centuries ago, in India, Emperor Shah Jahan fell hopelessly in love with Princess Mumtaz Mahal. He had the enchanting Gardens of Shalimar built for her and dedicated the Taj Mahal to her as well, one of the seven new wonders of the world. This incredible tale sparked the imagination of Jacques Guerlain, who created Shalimar, the first oriental fragrance in history, in 1925.

Now Maison Guerlain is delighting its wearers with one more thrilling and exciting new perfume, Shalimar Souffle de Parfum 2017. This year, Guerlain has impressed me much with amazing, sensual and truly distinctive perfumes. I adore Guerlain perfumes as they are pungent and intense – they leave behind a unique luxurious aroma. Shalimar Souffle de Parfum 2017 by Guerlain is created by famous in-house perfumer Thierry Wasser as a fresh, sweet and powerful perfume inspired by gorgeous Indian peacock.

Shalimar Souffle de Parfum unveils fresh and light citrus note of bergamot, lemon and mandarin. The luminous heart gives way to an armful of jasmine Sambac from India combined with an unprecedented orange blossom water absolute note.
Deep inside, the vanilla from India and Tahiti exalts a delicate sensuality, whereas the overdose of white musk reveals its addictive and cocooning facet.

Top notes: Bergamot, Lemon, Mandarin
Heart notes: Jasmin, Indian jasmine sambac
Base notes: Vanilla, White musk

To emphasize and give to the orange blossom its honeyed notes, Thierry Wasser used orange blossom water absolute. This absolute is the result of a very specific process. First step, distillation, to obtain the orange blossom water, then, extraction, to collect the precious absolute. This powerful absolute accentuate the floral trail of the fragrance.
