Now the Kering Group is playing its part in combating the Covid-19 pandemic in France. In the days ahead, Kering will provide the French health service with 3 million surgical masks, which the Group will purchase and import from China.

Meanwhile, the French workshops of Kering’s Houses Balenciaga and Yves Saint Laurent are preparing to manufacture masks while complying with the strictest health protection measures for their staff members, with production getting underway as soon as the manufacturing process and materials have been approved by the relevant authorities.

With a view to providing a lasting response to the current pandemic, Kering has made a financial donation to the French Institut Pasteur to support its research into Covid-19. On March 11 in Italy, Kering and its Houses made donations to the four major foundation hospitals in Lombardy, Veneto, Tuscany and Lazio.

More recently, Gucci responded to a call to fashion companies from the Regione Toscana for surgical masks and medical overalls, and could be able to donate 1.100.000 surgical masks and 55.000 medical overalls in the coming weeks, subject to relevant authorizations.

On January 28 in China, Kering and its Houses announced a donation to the Hubei Red Cross Foundation to help fight the spread of the virus.

Dior will launch Capture Youth age-delaying skincare

French Maison Dior has just announced the launch of its new anti-aging collection called Capture Youth. The new collection, aimed at thirty-somethings offers a personalized approach to delay the first signs of aging.

Deeply rooted in precision medicine, or customized preemptive health care, Dior’s original Capture was created in collaboration with famous Institut Pasteur. Dior’s new Capture Youth collection is created in collaboration with the European Institute of Antioxidants and the Université Pierre et Marie Curie. To help develop the advanced product line, Dior and the Institute have employed a special method for measuring antioxidant and free radical activity in biological tissue and discovered that our skin possesses its own intracellular antioxidant defense system, called glyoxalase, which is said to be responsible for its resilience against visible signs of aging.

Glyoxlase is, unfortunately, weakened by time and environmental effects, so the holy grail of anti-aging would be to find an efficient solution for increasing its activity – an extract of Florentine iris. As described by Dior, a high concentration of this Iris-derived ingredient provides an active antioxidant effect from the inside out.

The ingredient, in its concentrated form, is found in the Capture Youth Age-Delay Advanced Creme, which is central to the collection. The day cream is complemented with five serums, each targeting one specific skin concern, that will help personalize the routine. Dior offers serums for lifting, soothing, mattifying, plumping, and boosting radiance, as well as in-store diagnosis to help clients with their choice of serum. The serums can be mixed and matched, used individually, or layered one on top of the other – depending on your skin’s specific needs.

Christian Dior’s Capture Youth line is formulated with 85% ingredients of natural origin, including antioxidant tea polyphenols, murunga plum, and cotton peptides. The packaging is eco-friendly as well.

Capture Youth focuses on people in their 30s, so if you happen to be a bit older Dior has a collection named capture Totale, which is more for 40- and 50-year-olds looking to repair existing signs of aging.
