The days of wearing a single signature fragrance are long over. Now it’s all about having a fragrance wardrobe and Bulgari just made that a lot easier with their new Allegra perfume collection. Designed around the concept of customization, the women’s collection includes five perfumes and five magnifying essences, which add a unique twist to the perfume while making it a bespoke scent.

The magnifying essences are single ingredients. You can wear the parfum by itself without the magnifying essence, or only wear the magnifying essence. They are designed and tested to all be compatible. There is an infinite possibility of combinations. This was really the driving force, to bring true innovation and customization.

Perfumer Jacques Cavallier, who has worked with the house for seven years, was tapped to create the Allegra collection of fragrances. “All roads lead to Rome, all magnificent ingredients lead to Rome, and all fragrances lead to Rome”, says Jacques Cavallier about his creations for Bvlgari. Inspired by the history and lifestyle of Italy, the master perfumer put his passion and art into crafting the five Bvlgari Allegra Eau de Parfums and five Magnifying essences. The multiple combinations are the fruit of superb creativity.

For the fragrances, the citrus notes of Riva Solare evoke an endless Italian Riviera holiday, while the roses of Fiori d’Amore  are like kisses in the eternal city. The gourmand amaretti and orange blossom in Dolce Estasi are inspired by the attachment to family and childhood memories. The cocktail of fruity notes in Rock’n’Rome echoes a spritz aperitivo shared at sunset. Since they’re made from glass (except for the pump), they’re completely recyclable, as well as the outer cardboard packaging. “The footprint of Allegra is extremely low”, Jean-Christophe Babin says. Sustainability is now at the forefront of Bvlgari, as they are moving to completely plastic-free packaging for their watches and jewelry, which will save more than 150 tons of plastic per year.

“Jewelry by definition is sustainable”, Babin says. “More than 95 percent of our jewelry is made from recycled gold. We don’t participate any longer in gold extraction from the planet”. All plastic is also being eliminated from Bulgari hotels. Another conscious effort is that the Allegra collection is crafted with natural ingredients whenever possible.
