Bvlgari celebrates ten years of philanthropic partnership with Save the Children

For the past ten years Bvlgari has been engaged in a social solidarity initiative designed to bring hope to children living in vulnerable conditions around the world. In partnership with the charity Save the Children, the Roman Maison continues its engagement for youth with the launch of new initiatives.

When you have hope the whole world can change before your eyes.

In 2009, Bvlgari joined Save the Children to help vulnerable children around the world, primarily by bringing them access to education. The two partners are celebrating ten years of actions this year, during which more than 1.5 million young people have been empowered to build a better future. The partnership has raised nearly €80 million, and 300 personalities have donated support for different initiatives since the launch.

Bvlgari recently unveiled the #GiveHope campaign. Captured through the lens of photographer Rankin, the monochrome images see personalities such as Lily Aldridge, Ursula Corbero, Alicia Vikander, Jon Kortajarena, Michael Fassbender, Lady Kitty Spencer, Laura Harrier, Eva Green, Nieves Alvarez, Mario Casas, Isabella Ferrari, Maya Henry, Evangelie Smyrniotaki, Kristina Bazan, Lebanese actress Nadine Nassib Njeim, Saudi Arabian singer Aseel Omran, Ginevra Bulgari, Carlota Bulgari, Paolo Stella and Bvlgari CEO Jean-Christophe Babin.

The collaborative pendent symbolises a shared ambition for creating a brighter future for vulnerable children across the world.

All wore the same creation by the high jewelry Maison, a silver and onyx pendant set with a red ruby, which retails for 750 euros (of which 75 euros will fund charity work). This latest jewel joins the sterling silver Save the Children collection, from which a portion of sales is donated directly to the charity.

To mark their ten years of partnership, Bvlgari and Save the Children also inaugurated the first Punto Luce delle Arti center in early November. The Punto Luce, or ‘points of light’, are centers created by Save the Children in disadvantaged neighborhoods across Italy to help combat exclusion, poverty and school dropout rates.

The first Punto Luce built in collaboration with Bvlgari taps into the power of art and creativity to help young people. At these safe spaces, children and teenagers can acquire knowledge and learn skills in cinema, photography and design.

Since his 2009 debut in Tom Ford’s first movie, ‘The Single Man’ Jon Kortajarena’s ambition has been to act. He recently had a recurring role in the ABC drama ‘Quantico’ and now is filming ‘The Aspern Papers’ with Vanessa Redgrave and Jonathan Rhys Meyers.

But Jon Kortajarena has started fiftheen years ago modeled for some of the biggest fashion names on the planet, including Armani, Versace, Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, and Tom Ford. And they certainly helped shape his sense of style. When he considered watches to collect, that direction came from his greatest influence: his mother.

For my 21st birthday she said, ‘You are an adult now, you need a good watch.’ It was a rite of passage.

His mother, a hairdresser, had saved to buy her son what she considered the best: a Bvlgari. “Women wear jewelry, but a watch is the most elegant thing a man can wear”, he said.

Now Italian jeweler Bvlgari enlists Spanish supermodel Jon Kartajarena as their Gobal Watch Ambassador for their Octo Finissimo Automatic watch. Jon Kartajarena was captured for this campaign by fashion photographer Ellen von Unwerth.

The Bvlgari Octo Finissimo Automatic is the slimmest ultra-thin self-winding watch on the market to date.

After introducing its Tourbillon in 2014 and the Minute Repeater in 2016, the Maison unveils its new creation featuring a total thickness of just 5.15mm, while its self-winding movement is just 2.23mm thick for a 40mm diameter.

I consider Tom Ford perfumes one of the most unique and glamorous that define time. All Tom Ford fragrances are quality… Now the very talented fashion designer is launching a new fragrance within the sophisticated Noir collection, named Tom Ford Noir Anthracite and announced as the latest icon of seduction as well as a reflection of the light in the darkness. The Original Tom Ford Noir was introduced in 2012 as a woody and spicy oriental, followed by the 2013 Eau de Toilette flanker that offers a fresher interpretation, the 2015 spicy gourmand Tom Ford Noir Extrême and the feminine version Noir Pour Femme.

This autumn, the new masculine perfume is described as woody/spicy with an intense and daring aroma. Tom Ford Noir Anthracite carries the name of anthracite, a coal of dark gray color with a high gloss. The new composition, which is expected to portray a contrast between ‘brighter’ notes such as citruses and ‘dark’ woody ones, begins with fresh bergamot and spicy accords on a background of dark woods, including sandalwood from Sri Lanka, cedar wood and macassar wood, a sort of ebony endemic to the island of Sulawesi in Indonesia, to evoke the impression of warm skin.

Leading model Jon Kortajarena stars in Tom Ford’s latest fragrance campaign. The Spanish model fronts the advertisement for Ford’s new cologne. Kortajarena reunites with Ford after previous stints as the face of the brand and a role in his critically acclaimed film A Single Man. Laying in bed shirtless, Kortajarena appears before the lens of photography duo, Mert & Marcus.

I will definitely sniff this one out when it is released…. Tom Ford Noir Anthracite is available as 50 and 100ml.
