Kiehl’s to introduce its first nail polish this summer

American cosmetics brand Kiehl’s will unveil its first ever nail polish this summer, which will benefit in amfAR’s fight against AIDS.

For the upcoming summer season, Kiehl’s will introduce its first nail polish in a glossy black colour, inspired by the brand’s love for motorcycles and the company’s annual LifeRide charity event.

We’ve had motorcycles [in our stores] for 40-plus years, and we’ve always had that biker-esque image, so we thought black would be great.

Chris Salgardo, president Kiehl’s.

The formaldehyde-free polish will start selling in late July, coinciding with the company’s annual LifeRide motorcycle trip which raises awareness of HIV and funds for amfAR.

The annual convoy of about 20 bikers was initiated by Salgardo back in 2010, with this year’s LifeRide becoming the longest yet – beginning in Milwaukee and ending as Kiehl’s original shop in Manhattan.

The upcoming nail polish will be sold at all Kiehl’s locations, priced around $15 to $18.
