L’Occitane Launches an Inclusive Global Parental Leave Policy

LOCCITANE-Parental-Leave

The French L’Occitane Group, a leader in natural cosmetics and well-being products and a pioneer in corporate sustainability, today announced the launch of a global parental leave policy to support families of all shapes and sizes. The new policy gives primary caregivers a minimum of 20 weeks’ fully paid leave and secondary caregivers a minimum of 12 weeks’ fully paid leave to bond with their new child. It will apply to L’Occitane employees worldwide – across its offices, factories and owned retail stores – whether the child is welcomed by birth or through adoption or surrogacy.

To support this new parental leave policy and further advance its commitment to the empowerment of women, the L’Occitane Group also announced that it will join the Leading Executives Advancing Diversity (LEAD) Network.

Empowering women is a core value of L’Occitane. Our new, inclusive global parental leave is a major step forward in our ambitious programme towards gender parity within the Group, aiming to help employees to balance parenthood and career and increase diversity within teams, resulting in better business performance overall.

Armelle Saint-Raymond, L’Occitane Group Human Resources Vice-President

The new parental leave policy seeks to empower all employees and their families. It directly promotes health and well-being through equal opportunities in the workplace and fairer gender relations within the family. With this pioneering initiative, L’Occitane’s new parents enjoy more generous maternity and paternity leave than local legislation would provide for in many countries.

The difference is particularly marked in the US and Asia, which together account for more than 50% of the Group’s activity. The Group’s subsidiaries will provide longer parental leave where required by local legislation.

I am extremely proud that L’Occitane Group joins the Leading Executives Advancing Diversity (LEAD) Network. This is an exciting opportunity to leverage the network’s resources as a means of forging ahead with our diversity and inclusion policies. Membership of the network will provide a platform for our employees to grow on a personal and professional level and drive the Group’s ambition to act as an advocate for women in business within the industry worldwide

Women currently represent 87% of L’Occitane’s global workforce. The new parental leave policy strengthens the Group’s existing provisions to attract, retain and advance women, which is one of the three pillars of its commitment to sustainability. The new leave is company-mandated to lower barriers preventing men from taking parental leave while also breaking the glass ceiling to help women achieve their full potential.

In addition, the Group will continue to further develop flexible working arrangements and support programmes for employees returning to work after parental leave. L’Occitane will begin implementing the policy at its global headquarters in Switzerland in 2020, with the global roll-out set to be completed by April 2022.

L’Occitane Cherry Blossom Cerisier Irisé

Bloom Sakura Cherry Blossom Gif.

What comes to mind when you think about cherries? Summer, sun, and a sourly/sweet aroma in the mouth. This is the exact association I have with the new L’Occitane Cherry Blossom perfume that is all about cherry extracts and cherry notes.

The cherry tree is part of the Provençal landscape. It is widespread in the Apt region, in Luberon, and changes colors with the seasons. With this collection of fragrances, bath and body care products, L’Occitane celebrates the poetic beauty of the cherry blossom and its delicate, feminine flowers during the first days of spring.

The Cerisier (Cherry) collection by L’Occitane is inspired by lovely and fragrant cherry blossom. Year after year it announces the awaking of spring. The key note of cherry blossom is ussualy combined with fresh citruses, which brings a solar and Sunny effect, of with raspberries and cherries to accentuate the fruity side of the bloom. This year the newest limited collection is Cerisier Irisé, created as deliciously flowerly and fruity, like a spring symphony for all our senses.

Cerisier Irisé belongs to the famous L’Occitane Cherry Blossom spring collection, created to celebrate the blooming of cherry trees and to reflectthe radiance and joy of the cherry blossom smell..

L’Occitane Cherry Blossom Cerisier Irisé Eau de Toilette is ‘celebrating the poetic beauty of the cherry blossom and its delicate, feminine flowers during the first days of spring’. L’Occitane en Provance.

The composition of the newest edition brings the freshness of a fresh spring breeze using a grapefruit accord, while a romantic and a bit fruity smell of cherry blossom is mixed with with fresh pink rose flowers. The base notes support the floral joy with musky and woody nuances. L’Occitane Cherry Blossom Cerisier Irisé Eau de Toilette is a fresh, alluring, and colorful perfume with a pure, clean fragrance to make your day more positive and bright. L’Occitane is always delighting its wearers with qualitative products and fragrances made of high-quality ingredients and very attractive bright designs.

L’Occitane Terre de Lumiere L’Eau

OCC_405ad5971b20451c889ed0d7d8943b58

Famous French house L’Occitane launches a new fresh version perfume for women Terre de Lumiere L’Eau – flanker to last year’s bestseller Terre de Lumiere. Last year’s edition earned big success among its fans, one if the fans were me. I bought the perfume and body care products as a gift this summer and because of it’s pleasant, yet intense and long-lasting result – but they have to be used together (body-washer plus the perfume). It is not that kind of a very expensive perfume, nor too cheap, yet with a satisfying and airily enough aroma to make your day happier.

Top notes: Cassis
Heart: Freesia, Roses
Base: Amber, Vanilla, Patchouli

This autumn, Terre de Lumiere L’Eau appears as a soft/floral perfume for women created by famous perfumers: Nadège Le Garlantezec, Calice Becker, and Shyamala Maisondieu. It blends fresh bergamot, spicy pink pepper, and blackcurrant along with bitter almond, peony, Tonka bean and musk notes.

In Provence, there exists a unique moment where the light of the dawn ignites the sky and nourishes the Earth of a moment of ephemeral grace. When this light in the perfume is born it creates a tender, feminine and emblematic signature. The perfect match between the blossoming of a luminous floral heart, delicate like a cloud of petals and the unique and enveloping sensation of the sweetness of dawn.

L’Occitane Terre de Lumiere L’Eau is available as 50 or 90ml Eau de Toilette and body care products.

New Shea Butter Intensive Hand Balm

New Shea Butter Intensive Hand Balm1.jpgL’Occitane first became known stateside for its amazing hand cream which was made up of 20% Shea Butter. It’s greasy but it works.

But still, if that wasn’t moisturizing enough for you, know there’s a Shea Butter Intensive Hand Balm which has 25% Shea Butter and it’s even more luxurious and moisturizing. It has a very rich feel and melts as you rub your hands together, and what’s great about it is that it forms a film over your hands so that they’re protected from dry heat or air conditioning. Cuticles are instantly smoothed down and your skin just feels softer and smoother. I rub it on every night before I go to bed, and its keeping my hands feeling comfortable even after I wash them.

New Shea Butter Intensive Hand BalmTip: Very dry hands? Remove the dry layer first. Treat yourself. Scrub your hands before you apply your handcreme. And see te result…. directly!

L’Occitane Intensive Hand Balm is availble in a handy 150 ml tube.

The light of Provence: L’Occitane Terre de Lumiere

L'Occitane Terre de Lumiere.jpg

Inspired by nature, beauty and light, L’Occitane’s new fragrance is the season’s olfactory must-have.

Fragrance and beauty specialist L’Occitane is set to launch its highly anticipated new fragrance, Terre de Lumière. Created by a trio of master perfumers – Calice Becker, Shyamala Maisondieu and Nadège Le Garlantezec – the new olfactory must-have captures the golden glow of the Provence sky during dusk, dubbed the Golden Hour, and transports the user onto the vast, colourful and scent-filled fields of the French region.

L'Occitane Terre de Lumiere Eau de Parfum.jpg

Terre de Lumière is a smooth aromatic gourmand that is sweet, yet sophisticated and feminine. I love the concept of it being inspired by light, and I almost want to describe the fragrance itself as ‘glowing’ even though I know that doesn’t really make sense. The top notes are actually quite fresh, with Bergamot and Pink Pepper, but they dry down quickly into an intoxicating, velvety veil of scent.

Terre de Lumière plays on the tension between masculine freshness and delicious feminine softness. It’s a very innovative scent, the first gourmand aromatic fragrance from L’Occitane, absolutely addictive.

Calice Becker

The smooth sweetness is thanks to the dominant heart note of Lavender Honey, although neither the lavender or the honey stand out alone in the scent. It’s balanced out by a musky base of White Musk, Tonka Bean and Bitter Almond. It’s warm, comforting and feminine.

The multi-faceted nature of the fragrance is owed to the combination of different experiences by its three creators; from Shyamala’s memory of lavender honey to Nadège’s subtle additions of almond to Calice’s final touches of a floral element.

loccitane-terre-de-lumiere-eau-de-parfum-landscape

To complement the breathtaking scent a special bottle had to also be created. “To find the ideal shape, we decided to focus on the luxury of simplicity, which Provence embodies,” said Olivier Baussan, Founder of L’Occitane. “The bottle is iconic and elegant. The cap represents a pebble picked up in a field of lavender as the sun sets. There’s something very sensorial about it”.

Terre de Lumiére is available now from L’Occitane stores, retailers and online here. It’s available in 50ml and 90ml and there’s also a shower get and body lotion as part of the collection.

L’Occitane Néroli and Orchidée Collection has some lovely new additions just in time for Spring!

loccitane_orchid_neroli_banner

One of my favourite L’Occitane line the ‘Collection de Grasse’ Néroli and Orchidée expands its range just in time for Spring with three new products: a Bath Milk, a Body Oil, and a Lip Gloss.

Neroli is the essence of unions and purity , yet its scent is far from innocent. In encounter with the orchid, a flower from the others side of the world, is in no way a coincidence. While both essences seem so different, both white flowers are symbolic of feminity

Karine Dubreuil, perfumer L’Occitane

Néroli and Orchidée blends two precious essences for this “Collection de Grasse”. A heart of radiant Neroli is blended with caressing white orchide absolute from Madagascar. Fruity burst of orange and heart notes of peach complete this sensuous bouquet.
It is really a wonderful fresh fragrance which is perfect for Spring. So I thought to myself with these lovely new additions, why not create a Néroli and Orchidée beauty ritual. Let’s celebrate the arrival of Spring!

loccitane_orchid_neroli_collection_largeStart your beauty routine with a relaxing bath, with the Néroli and Orchidée Bath Milk. You would truly enjoy it as it not only hydrates and moisturizes but it also leaves your skin with a wonderful delicate and feminine scent. Then apply the Néroli and Orchidée Body Oil. I can switch your body lotion for a body oil, it is light weight, it absorbs quickly and leaves your skin with a beautiful shimmer and without being greasy at all. The lip gloss hydrates and moisturizes, and give your lips a lovely pink sheer. Are you ready to go?

The L’Occitane Néroli & Orchidee Collection is available at L’Occitane boutiques and selected stores worldwide. Come int the beautiful world of L’Occitane.

L’Occitane Iris Bleu & Iris Blanc the new perfumes from the ‘Collection de Grasse’

L'Occitane-Eau-de-Toilette-Iris-Bleu-Iris-Blanc-75-ml_IMAGE

This Spring French Maison L’Occitane is launching Iris Bleu & Iris Blanc, the new fragrance part of the ‘Collection de Grasse’. The story of modern parfumery began in Grasse, a lovely town in the South of France, where local growers are masters in cultivating rare and delicate flowers such as Iris, Jasmine and Orange Blossom.
L’Occitane has teamed up with Iris grower Anne Dor from the Val d’Iris in Grasse in order to create this wonderful parfum Iris Bleu & Iris Blanc.

The fragrance is fresh and velvety and combines to perfection the delicacy of the white Iris from the Mediterranean with the Blue Iris from Grasse. The fragrance is evocative of a halo of iridiscent powder on a cheek flushed by a morning chill. It is a flower to flower encounter which opens with green fruity notes of blackcurrant and citrus while the heart of the fragrance iris is subtly spiced with ylang-ylang.
