Later this month, French luxury fashion house Maison Margiela will introduce Autumn Vibes (Montreal, 2018), a new unisex fragrance joining the Replica series, a collection of fragrances inspired by personal memories and moments from the life of the perfumer;

The year is 2018, and the location is Montreal. Autumn Vibes is a fragrance that brings back a warm autumn day, a colorful forest landscape, fresh air, and a feeling of being in nature. The woody-spicy scent blends notes of cedar with moss reminiscent of a walk in the woods. The colorful leaves under your feet are evoked by pink pepper and cardamom essence.

Maison Martin Margiela launches four new fragrances

Replica, which is intrinsically linked with memories, will be boosted by the addition of an oriental leather scent, a white floral aldehydic, a green vegetal scent, and a fresh ‘cologne-style’ eau de parfum. The fragrances are named ‘Dancing on the Moon’, ‘Across Sands’, ‘Soul of The Forest’ and ‘Flying’ respectively.

Maison Martin Margiela is launching four new Eau de Parfum fragrances, continuing its ‘Replica’ Eau de Toilette series, established in 2012

Each fragrance is labelled ‘Gender Anonymous’, reinforcing the house’s dedication to equality and its “non-conformist approach to society gender norms”.

The Eau de Parfum collection retains the same packaging design and bottle structure as the Eau de Toilette scents, comprising a black spray-cap apothecary bottle that signifies nightfall, the precursor to dreams and the awakening of the subconscious. An inky black cord ombré gradient effect is sprayed down the glass, while silver laboratory-style labels add a futuristic touch and reference the house’s signature ‘silverfoil’ that has appeared across both garments and accessories in creative director John Galliano’s ready-to-wear collections. The designer describes the ‘Replica’ Eau de Parfum as “Hi-fi, lo-fi, with a sci-fi finish”.

The new fragrances will launch on September 26.

The Parisian fashion house Maison Martin Margiela was founded in 1988 by Belgian designer Martin Margiela. A cross-section between fashion and design, the house presents Haute Couture and ready-to-wear collections as well as leather goods, footwear, accessories, and fragrance. In 1994, Maison Martin Margiela introduced ‘REPLICA,’ a new seasonal line. The collection represents an interest in highly functional and emotive garments and accessories, meticulously reproduced to maintain the piece’s original character. Perfumes have a tendency to remind you of certain moments or periods of your life, for example, I can put on a fragrance that takes me back to high school and your first love (Christian Dior Jules) or the times of endless desert nights in Jordan (Jil Sander Background). A good perfume is so much more than just a nice scent, it’s also connected to feelings and memories. Thats why I’ve always liked the thought of wearing a special fragrance during vacation (Bvlgari Eau the Vert, Hermès Eau de Hermès), so that I can relate to relaxation and well being when I’m wearing it. It’s possible I got kind of mesmerized by the words on the bottle but in this case they actually do make sense, even before the scent has becomed ‘yours’ you recognize it and I’m not kidding! ‘Reproduction of familiar scents and moments of varying locations and periods’ with a touch of ‘Sun kissed salty skin’ really spells out what this little bottle is all about and, well,  that’s more than enough for me.

Perfumers who were invited to participate in creation of the new collection are Jacques Cavallier and Marie Salamagne. Beach Walk opens with citruses – bergamot and lemon, and develops with pink pepper, ylang-ylang, coconut milk, musk and heliotrope to evoke a familiar but forgotten moment – a walk along a sandy beach

This year, the brand dives into the world of scents and introduces another Replica masterpiece, a collection of fragrances.
