In 2021, Giorgio Armani unveils an enchanting new fragrance as part of Les Mille et Une Nuits collection: Sable Nuit. At once invigorating, warm and enveloping, this new scent evokes an Oriental olfactory journey through a mysterious night in the desert.
Giorgio Armani has captured the essence of Armani/Privé Haute Couture collections and translated it into bold fragrances. An expression of Giorgio Armani’s own personal experiences and influences leading to the creation of unique fragrances. An exploration of nature and culture, unveiling an invitation to unexpected olfactory journeys through the finest ingredients.
Taking inspiration from the noble elegance of the expansive desert landscape, Sable Nuit pays tribute to nature and its infinite contrasts. Created by perfumer Nicolas Beaulieu (IFF), the Oriental Spicy fragrance celebrates the ever-appealing meeting of the warmth of burning desert sand and the invigorating freshness of majestic clear nights.
The scent opens with bright, fresh top notes of Olibanum enlightened by Pink Pepper. While Benzoin and Labdanum fuse at its heart to create a balmy, ambery warmth, Cedar and Patchouli woods generate a deep, magnetic aura. At the base of the fragrance, the Olibanum resinoide takes a mysterious and mineral smoky turn, as it meets Ambroxan and a voluptuous, carnal and woody Vanilla base.
As part of Les Mille et Une Nuits collection, Sable Nuit is presented in the iconic and utterly distinctive flacon. The flacon is crafted in opaque, onyx colored glass, which enhances the fragrance’s mystical allure, with the flacon topped in a smooth, golden cap. This sensual and tactile cap design evokes a gleaming stone that glows in the desert. The cap is lifted to experience the elixir within, while the fragrance name is elegantly engraved on a golden Armani/Privé stamped plaque set on the flacon’s face.

Fashion designer André Courrèges was particularly known for his streamlined 1960s designs influenced by modernism and futurism, exploiting modern technology and new fabrics. Courrèges defined the go-go boot. The original go-go boots, as defined by André Courrèges in 1964, were white, low-heeled, and mid-calf in height, a specific style which is sometimes called the Courrèges boot. Along with Mary Quant, is one of the designers credited with inventing the miniskirt.
The New York Times described him as ‘The brightest blaze of the year’. to emphasis the change from the little black dress to the white dress. Designers such as Pierre Cardin and Paco Rabanne taking influences towards ‘Future’ fashion looks. With new popularity, his designs trickled down to mass production companies that created affordable designs similar to Courrèges.
He paired his shorter skirts with white or colored leather, iconic calf-high boots that added a confident flair to the ensemble. This look became one of the most important fashion developments of the decade and was widely copied. Accessories were inspired by astronauts equipment such as; goggles, helmets and flat boots. White and metallic colour ways were implemented to emphasise the futuristic collection. He utilised unconventional materials such as metal, plastic and PVC which was unusual for couture ateliers.
Already in 1997 Maison Courrèges dreamed up the perfume 2020, which was drawn in floral, fruity and woody lines, revolving around a note of frosted pear. The iconic fashion house of the sixties today renews its futuristic verve, to bring us to a future tinged with audacity and freedom.
With the new line Colognes Imaginaires, Courrèges projects us into the future. True to its avant-garde soul, the French Maison still dares to imagine an optimistic future, through a range of colognes filled with a positive spirit.
Courrèges 2030 Verbena Crush
Created by perfumer Mylène Alran, 2030 Verbena Crush, is undoubtedly the one that fits most in the ‘cologne’ universe, with its citrus and aromatic notes. Zooming in on the green and tart nuances of verbena, whose essential oil inevitably evokes the scent of lemon, the scent brings some herbaceous touches, as well. Alran dreamed of a future tinged with serenity, so she embroidered her composition around a crumpled verbena leaf (whose soothing properties are known). Orange and lemon brighten it with a zesty and luminous effect, and some herbaceous notes stretch the greenness of the plant, carried by hedione to dress it with an aerial transparency. In the background, the musks imbue the perfume with a comfortable and padded suppleness. A scent of soft and sparkling freshness.
Courrèges 2040 Nectar Tonka
On the opposite side of the olfactive map, 2040 Nectar Tonka foresees a warm future, with its slightly gourmand oriental notes. Still a ‘light’ fragrance – we stay in the ‘cologne’ style – perfumer Benoist Lapouza put the round and almondy notes of tonka bean center stage, hemmed with vanilla and enriched with some woody and spicy touches (pepper, cinnamon) to complete the picture. A fairly dense and textured feeling emerges from the whole, which will appeal to lovers of enveloping ‘colognes’.
Courèges 2050 Berrie Flash
Since the future will have plants, or there won’t be a future at all, perfumer Nicolas Beaulieu portrayed it with green, sparkling, fruity notes. 2050 Berrie Flash reveals itself under a lively, sparkling flight, which gives pride of place to juniper berries. This very uplifting sensation, underlined with some spicy touches of cardamom and nutmeg, is placed around a bay leaf note with vegetal accents. The blackcurrant bud brings up all of its green and fruity nuances, and a few rose and geranium touches are outlined in the background, resting on a wooded bed. An at once powerful and mutinous ‘cologne’.
Courrèges 2060 Cedar Pulp
Created by Fanny Bal, the perfumer is hoping to ‘be surprised’ by the omens of a distant future, a feeling she conveys pretty successfully with 2060 Cedar Pulp. Behind the name with a woody and sparkling universe hides a ‘cologne’ that’s rather soft and powdery at first. It has green, herbaceous (basil) nuances that dress up an almond-like opening of heliotropin. The ‘sweet almond’ effect is quite realistic, while being treated with finesse in the balancing of the composition. The cedar brings strength and structure to the whole, while the musks end up rounding the contours with softness and suppleness. This powdery composition, twisted with green and woody notes, arises between classicism and modernity.
The Colognes Imaginaires Collection is ready for the future. Te range is built from organic and recyclable materials (organic beet alcohol, biodegradable wooden covers, resourceable glass, recyclable paper case, etc.), and the ingredients of natural origin that are used in the formulas come from sustainable sources.
Courrèges Colognes Imaginaires are available as 100ml at selected stores worldwide. Come into the beautiful world of Courrèges.
French Maison Lancome and Dubai Duty Free have partnered in an exclusive two-month pre-launch for the French beauty house’s new luxury private perfumes collection, Maison Lancôme, from 1 March to 30 April.
Ever wonder what your favorite garden would smell like if you could bottle it up? Would it be crisp or warm? Floral or woodsy?
Lancôme celebrates the ‘French art of living’ that has defined the rose-emblemed brand since it was created by perfumer Armand Petitjean in 1935. The collection features a range of fragrances composed, designed and produced in France. For 2019, Maison Lancôme draws inspiration from French gardens for its four new creations: Figues & Agrumes, Magnolia Rosae, Patchouli Aromatique and Pivoines Printemps.
Lancôme founder Armand Petitjean had a special love of French gardens, as evidenced by those he laid out at the Lancôme plantation in Chevilly, known at the time as the ‘Versailles of Perfumery’. His passion found its ultimate expression though in the garden of his country home, Les Vallières, described by Lancôme as ‘a bucolic and romantic haven of peace’. There, the perfumer and his wife grew rare flowers and hosted receptions for friends and family every Sunday.
The new collection merges the quintessentially French tradition of weekends in the countryside with the historical heritage of the brand. Maison Lancôme represents an ‘olfactory interpretation of the French country garden’.
Shoppers can discover that interpretation via an immersive and multi-sensory virtual reality in-store experience.
Maison Lancôme Figues & Agrumes Created by Alex Lee and Patricia Choux
We worked together on the fig, combining our two visions to create a unique interpretation of the fruit. Patricia was inspired by the fresh, green fig you can smell when you walk by the fig trees in southern France. Alex played on the mouth-watering and addictive facet of the fig.
Alex Lee and Patricia Choux
A bright Assemblage evoking the fragrances of a Mediterranean orchard.
The exhilarating freshness of sun-kissed green figs is bejewelled with sparkling citrus notes and sunny jasmine accents.
Maison Lancôme Magnolia Rosae Created by Mathilde Bijaoui
When I was a child, I would go to my maternal grandparents’ garden and sit on a bench beneath an enormous magnolia tree, which was spectacular when in bloom. I imagined a fragrance around the plump, velvety petals of the magnolia, a fragrance of skin and flowers.
A pastel floral blend where notes of magnolia petal heart, tinged with delicate roses, yields to a sensual, velvety cloud of white musks.
Maison Lancôme Patchouli Aromatique Created by Juliette Karageuzoglou
Patchouli is my favourite ingredient. I wanted to work this sublime plant into a comfortable creation. My objective was to tame it by blending it with a French garden.
A woodland Assemblage where the opulence of patchouli is magnified, accompanied by the earthy accents of vetiver, in a striking contrast with the green notes of sage.
Maison Lancôme Pivoines Printemps Created by Nicolas Beaulieu
The dense whorl of peony petals makes me think of the smooth, creaminess of whipped cream.
The springtime sweetness of an Assemblage based on the fresh, rosy notes of a bouquet of peonies, enhanced by a spicy touch of pink peppercorns and enveloped in a delicious rose chantilly.
Precious flacons made of glass and gold, adorned with a golden plate on the back to discover the imprint of the ingredients, and on the side, revealing the secret of the Assemblage and its Signature.

Introducing Montblanc’s new delicately feminine and resolutely modern fragrance for women.
From molecules of carbon subjected to high temperatures and pressures for millennia to stones shaped and polished by artisan craftsmen, diamonds are the world’s most precious gems. And they are of course, a girl’s best friend!
For Montblanc, diamonds are a signature. They symbolise love, purity and beauty. They are also the most undeniable way to win over the heart of the women to whom they are offered. In 2006, after many years of research, and in honour of the Maison’s 100th anniversary, Montblanc launched the MontBlanc diamond. Designed in the form of the Maison’s emblem, whose shape evokes the snow-capped peak of the six glacial valleys of the Mont Blanc, the Montblanc diamond is the patented result of incredible technical expertise: forty-three facets, a table and crown unlike any other in the world, and a perfectly pointed culet. Inside a Montblanc diamond, the luminous rays reflect infinitely and the brilliance refracts to create a prism in a dizzying range of colours. A mineral rainbow, if you will. And it is this masterpiece of elite gemmological craftsmanship that inspired Montblanc to create its new women’s fragrance: Lady Emblem.
Facets and brilliance: by understanding the similarities between gemmology and perfumery, Dominique Ropion and Nicolas Beaulieu focused their talents on the concept of brilliance. “We sought a timeless creation inspired by an eternal …” explained Nicolas. “Each element was crafted to maintain and enhance purity”, added Dominique.
A mystifying rose sake is the focal point. The exceptional rose sake is obtained through highly sophisticated distillation to maintain refinement, naturalness and grace. Seductive and green, it is like a Zephyr’s caress, floral one moment and fruity the next. The sake note, which was invented by the two perfumers, has the fresh, crystalline zing of the finest rice spirit. There is a slightly metallic hint of litchi and cut grass. The Japanese call this ‘Nihonshu’.
What enhances, envelops or accompanies the sake base affects the formula like a melody carved into a precious stone. Pink peppercorn is a spicy head note, complementary to pink grapefruit. The two blend like a diamond whose brilliance pierces the thousand facets and dazzles, inducing dreams. To bring out the rose, jasminum sambac from China provides the feeling of real petals and exquisite pomegranate, as juicy as it is fragrant, makes the heart race. Powdery, velvety sandalwood provides amber tones from the bottom to the top, and crystals of musk gently emerge. This creates a delicately sensuous base for an exquisite and extraordinary feminine elixir.
Represented by Lesly Masson and photographed by Carlotta Manaigo, the image created for this fragrance is that of an independent and contemporary woman. With an almost piercing yet undeniably alluring look and slightly tousled hair, the Lady Emblem woman has a distinctive versatility that makes her the perfect companion to her male Emblem counterpart. One thing is certain: she is undeniably feminine, eschews ostentation and possesses beauty and a distinctive sense of style.
A carbon copy of the Montblanc diamond, it has the same number of facets, reflects the same brilliance and draws the same dreams. Heavy in hand, crowned by pink gold and garnished with a luxurious glass top, it is nestled in a rose tea-coloured box to be opened like an offering. And of course, there is the signature Montblanc emblem at the summit.
