American brand Calvin Klein launches a new perfume for women, Downtown – a modern fragrance with a name that simply says everything. Calvin Klein Downtown is described to be a new flirty, fresh, and a little wild just perfect for the younger generation. It is a new interpretation of how a wonderful and delicious perfume could be perfect for the summer time.
Created by perfume Ann Gottlieb of Givaudan, Downtown by Calvin Klein is a modern perfume for women with a touch of glamour. It opens to impress with a pleasant burst of fresh notes of Italian lemon, bergamot, Tunisian neroli, green pear and aquatic plum along with gardenia petals, pink pepper and violet leaves. The base nicely dries down with Texas cedar, vetiver and velvety musk. This flowery/woody perfume is advertised by gorgeous actress Rooney Mara.
Rooney Mara is dressed in a gender-crossing biker gear meant to express a new facet of the Calvin Klein youth message. She is free, or wants to be, yet has this relatable mainstream aspiration: to ideally live in a downtown area of a city. A bit sedate admittedly, and going counter current with the movement of urbanites going back to farms or cool villages, which has not yet been captured in a scent.
Mara has become known through her role as Lisbeth Salander in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.
