This spring sees the launch of the Featherlights makeup collection by Kevyn Aucoin Beauty. Geraldo Frazao, the lead makeup artist for Kevyn Aucoin Beauty in London, is a renowned natural talent, especially in blending and contouring. On meeting him, we were inspired to take a close look at the brand.

Geraldo describes himself as an “artist who works with make-up”, with his work having featured in numerous international glossy titles. He was the personal makeup artist for one of the most powerful fashion icons of our time, Isabella Blow. We have featured below some of our favourite products from the Featherlights Collection:

The Clarins Poudre Soleil Visage is the star of the release for me, I was instantly attracted to the lovely, sturdy compact that houses a few shades of bronzer meant to be worn individually or together to help give you that summer glow. There are four shades in the pan, a light coppery beige and a warmer one along with a shimmery cool toned bronze and a soft peach shade in the middle. You can dip your brush is each shade and contour and bronze or just swirl your brush in all colors to warm up the face. The powder is very finely milled with a soft pigmentation allowing you to deposit a touch of color and build intensity gradually, the powder is very smooth and glides onto the skin making it easy to blend and sheer out. The shade is a fabulous soft peach that complements skin beautifully.

Christian Louboutin Launches Neo-Reds

From shoes to nail polishes, Christian Louboutin is painting the town red once again with his trademark. The luxury shoe designer is bringing a new trio name ‘The Neo Reds’ to his range of nail color shades for the new season. One coat is all that is needed for that glossy coat, thanks to the highly pigmented formula.

For a little shine, fans of the designer nail polishes can don a peony red with a subtle sparkle named ‘Jazzy Doll’ after Louboutin’s leather sandals. The ‘Lady Peep’ is a deep raspberry that is named after the popular peep-toe stiletto. Those in favour of a brighter shade of red can try the ‘Edgy Popi’. The preppy and flirty orange-red is the right amount of colour one would need. The polishes are longwearing and chip resistant as well as free of toluene, formaldehyde and DBP.

Christian Louboutin first broke into the beauty industry in 2014 with a nail polish collection, but cemented his influence on the market last September when he released a lipstick line that riffed on his iconic red shade. The line’s star piece, ‘The Rouge Louboutin’ lipstick, packaged in luxurious black, silver and gold casing, was accompanied by a further 35 hues, packaged in gold casing and priced at $90.

Louboutin’s The Jazzy Doll, Lady Peep and EdgyPopi shades, will be available from June in selected stores and on Christian Louboutin’s website for $50.

The Perfect Mono Cream Eye Colour in Indaco is an absolute stunner and the formula is so good I’d love it in a tonne of everyday colours. This is mega pigmented (a theme that runs across this collection) in cream to powder – which sets on the eye – and a little goes a long way. It can absolutely be sheered out, but looks best when it packs a punch. I’d call it a petrol blue, which looks dark teal when smudged or smoked out.

Last but not least, a big shout out to the divine Turquoise nail polish, creamy, opaque and one of the glossiest formulas I’ve tried. It last 3-4 days like with only minor tip wear despite heavy housework. The perfect greeny blue, it basically looks like you’ve dipped your fingers in the Med.

This 9 cubes of pastels goodness is a an overall palette. You can use it for your eyes, your whole face as powder, cheeks as highlighters and contouring. Yes you heard me right, contouring. I thought the brown shade is too shimmery but it blended so well and it really does work as contouring and bronzing. The 9 iridescent pastel cubes totally caught me by surprise, I would never thought to love pastel shades so much, but this one is a must have for the spring season! The 9 shades is divided into 3 corrective shades, 3 blush tones and 3 illuminating pastels. And the packaging, gosh don’t even get me started.
