When Boucheron adorns a Ballerina from the Grand Opera de Paris

The animated film Ballerina pays tribute to the first jeweler of the Place Vendôme by choosing one of the most beautiful tiaras in its archives to accompany Félicie, the heroine of the film, to fulfill her dreams.

Ballerina tells the story of Félicie, a young Breton orphan who has only one passion: dance. Her wildest dream: to become a prima ballerina at the Paris Opera. With her best friend Victor, she develops an incredible plan to escape from the Orphanage, towards Paris, the city of light and its Eiffel Tower under construction!

Ready to do anything to live her dream, Félicie will take the identity of her competitor Camille to join the dance school, will follow superhuman training to master the grace and technique of ballet and will suffer the stress of uncompromising auditions at the Opera…

With her mentor Odette and Victor by her side, Félicie will have to fight like never before, surpass herself and learn from her mistakes. But nothing is too hard to achieve his dream…

Maison Boucheron is proud to have a role in this beautiful French animated film at the cinema on December 14th. Founded by Frédéric Boucheron in 1858, Boucheron was built through four generations of direct descendants. Visionary creator and first jeweler of the Place Vendôme, Boucheron still embodies excellence in Jewelry, High Jewelry and Watchmaking. The Boucheron style, free and bold, never ceases to invent the classics of tomorrow.

Released from the Maison’s archives and conceptualized in 3D identically for the occasion, the ‘Ombelles tiara’ becomes in Ballerina the symbol of the fulfillment of Félicie’s dream: to become a star dancer at the Opera in the Paris of 1884.

Boucheron Ombelles tiara

This exceptional tiara in platinum and diamonds from 1904 was acquired by a client of the Maison in 1913 in the salons of 26 Place Vendôme to offer it to the future wife of his son. It is decorated with umbel flowers recognizable by their corollas, which seem delicately curved downwind. The heart of each flower is set with a diamond.

Throughout the movie, Boucheron’s contemporary creations Quatre and Serpent Bohème also accessorize the characters Mérante, ballet master, and Rosita, illustrious principal dancer, model for Félicie.

Come into the beautiful world of Boucheron.
