Dermalogica Hydrablur Primer

dermalogica_hydrablur_primer_22ml

Dermalogica are historically known for their great skincare so when they combine their innovative skincare experience with cosmetics, the result is probably going to be great. This primer has to be one of the best I’ve used in a while. Hydrablur creates the perfect canvas for your makeup.

The formulation has been developed with a premise to hydrate the skin whilst also giving a good primer base. The product’s formulation spreads well and you don’t need a lot on your face. It helps to mattify your skin without drying it out and reduces the appearance of pores and uneven skin so that it leaves a silky and luminous finish. So fine lines and wrinkles are given a blurred effect creating a smooth surface for makeup application.

dermalogica-hydrablur-primer-1When you apply your foundation, it goes on smoothly and really helps to keep your foundation in place throughout the day. The best thing was how hydrated my skin felt throughout the day, even sitting in a heated office. It’s not one of those primers that sits on your face, the dual action product is really worth every cent.

Lancome Color Correcting Primer Miracle CC Cushion

Seems like color correctors are trending for Spring and these new Miracle CC Cushion Color Correcting Primers are right on target for that trend.

Based off Lancome’s Miracle CC Cushion these new cushion color correcting primers are available in four shade selections to address redness, discoloration, dullness, and dark circles. Each color can be used on different parts of the face to address imperfections such as dark circles, redness, etc…

Elizabeth Arden All Over Miracle Oil

Elizabeth Arden is back! When a bevy of celeb makeup artists and beauty experts all love a certain product, it’s worth investigating. Released on Thursday, Nov. 5, Elizabeth Arden’s new Eight Our Cream All Over Miracle Oil  already has a cult following, after just a short time on the market! And believe it or not: in many shops it was sold out in no time! Worldwide!!

Elizabeth-Arden-Eight-Hour-Miracle-Oil

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Miracle Oil (Click photo to enlarge)

Why? Imagine one product to answer all your beauty desires. Rich in Omegas 6 and 9, with its nine all-natural extracts, vitamins and oils (including Korean Tsubaki oil, Boswellia resin, and Vitamin E), the newest addition to the Eight-Hour family has só many uses, I’m beginning to lose count…..

  • As a primer:

For healthy, radiant skin, you can use Eight-Hour All-Over Miracle Oil on your fingertips and apply it as a light, smooth veil onto the cheekbones, center of nose, and eyelids. It settles in seconds and provides a smooth canvas more makeup.

  • As a serum:

You can use it with a few drops under your day and night cream. Giving extra comfort to skin. In summer you may use it under (or mix it) with your aftersun.

  • All in one moisturizer:

It’s my go-to product for creating a head-to-toe seamless and smooth natural glow on the skin. A few drops mixed with your bodylotion or cream. One or two drops on your hands under your handcreme (or mix with it).

  • Foundation Booster:

Add a bit of the oil to your palm and mix with your foundation, for an extra nourished, glowy look.

  • Highlighter:

(Spritz it) on décolleté and face to add that extra glow. Use your fingertips to lightly tap the oil on the tops of cheekbones, leaving just enough behind for a subtle velvet sheen.

  • Curl Definer:

Yep, it works on hair too. Use the oil to keep your curly hair in shape.

Dry oils are rediscoverd, and vèry populair at the moment. And yes… maybe there are ‘better ones’, like La Mer and Estée Lauder, but they have a much higher price tag! And believe me… this one is more then perfect. A true, affordable Holy Grail! No wonder is is sold out…

Yves Saint Laurent introduces new primers

For years I was a HUGE fan of Yves Saint Laurents Premier Teint, an àmazing product, that did èverything it promised. For me, and many of my colleagues a Holy Grail! They where availble in several coloris, like yellow (my favorite, most used), green, pink and ‘white’. There texture was sóo perfect! But not only that, also the colors, the where perfect. These little 20ml square bottles where little gems! Sadly…. on one moment: production stopped. Why? That’s always the question….

I tried many, many others, from other prestige houses, but no…. I didn’t find someting that comes close. A friend of mine advised me MAC. But I’m sorry, the texture…. no, it’s totally not my thing! When there is ‘good’, ‘better’, ‘best’… Mac was for me (not that) ‘good’. The YSL Premier Teint was (the) ‘Best’!!

Yves Saint Laurent Touche Éclat Blur Primer

Yves Saint Laurent Touche Éclat Blur Primer, 30ml (Click photo to enlarge).

Now the house of Yves Saint Laurent has just released its new Touch Éclat Blur Primer, a product described as the brand’s first light infused primer. This blurring and illuminating fluid gel primer not only helps your makeup look better and last longer, but it also evens out the complexion, and blurs pores, lines and wrinkles.

This innovative primer is formulated using a cutting-edge technology, which allows the light to diffuse appropriately without interference from dulling opaque fillers. This (extreme!) lightweight, transparent gel features miniscule shimmering particles that blend evenly into the skin. The result is a gorgeous, natural-looking radiance, without any excess glitter. The primer is quite watery and very easy to apply, so that it instantly creates an ideal canvas.

The Touche Éclat Blur Primer can be layered under foundation to boost radiance, or worn alone (or with powder) to create a perfect canvas. Either way, apply one pump of the product on the back of your hand, and then apply with a tender sweeping gesture from the center of the face outward. The important thing is to leave it to set over skin for about 10 seconds before applying foundation.

Yves Saint Laurent Touche Éclat Blur Primer is available in a single, transparent shade. The product is delivered in a luxurious, massive glass bottle with a gold-colored stopper and a pump dispenser. The formula is suitable for all skin types, and it is non-comedogenic. The formula is a blend of corn oil, apricot kernel oil, passiflora oil, and rice bran oil hydrates skin and smoothes out the skin’s texture. A dose of finely milled gold shimmer imparts skin with a hint of luminosity.

In addition, YSL has introduced the ultimate Couture Eye Primer, which promises to prolong the wear of your eyeshadow to no less than 16 hours. Same as its Touche Éclat Blur counterpart, the Couture Eye Primer can be layered under the eye shadow, of worn alone for a perfect nude eye look. The formula promises a crease-proof wear, and it comes in two shades Fair and Medium.

I love them! I found a new Holy Grail! There texture, everything, they are perfect! But still: I miss the old premier teint to work with…..

The Touche Éclat Blur Primer, a real must have! For everybody! Even when you don’t use makeup but loves a radiance boost! It doesn’t matter what kind of makeup brand you prefer! You can use it with every product, every brand!

Yves Saint Laurent Touche Éclat Blur Primer 9/10

Yves Saint Laurent Couture Eye Primer 9.5/10

Summer tip: Use your facial Sun Cream SPF 30 as daycream. Then after a few seconds a thin layer Touche Éclat Blur Primer and then if you like… just a little of your favorite (YSL) bronzing powder! Voila! And look amazing on summer boulevard!

How To Apply Foundation: From Picking The Right Product To Setting Your Look

You’ve heard it time and time again: Everything will fail unless you have the proper foundation. The same goes for your makeup. Your foundation is the base for everything else, and if you screw that up, your entire face is doomed. ¨How to apply your foundation¨ was another one of Google’s top-searched beauty questions of 2014. But in case you are lost, here are a few tips to improve your foundation application:

foundation brush

Prep your face. Clean your face first to get fresh skin, remove bacteria and dirt from the air, and keep your tools clean. Moisturize with your favorite moisturizer. Wait about five minutes to let that set, then prime your skin to smooth any bumps or ridges and get a barrier between your skin and makeup. Primers also help hold your foundation in place, make it last longer and keep it from settling into your pores and wrinkles.

Pick a formula. It’s all up to your personal preference whether you want a compact cream or liquid foundation, spray or loose powder. Powders and sprays may provide lighter coverage while cream and liquids may give you more full coverage. Choose one based on the look you’re going for.

Choose the right color. Too light, and it can wash you out. Too dark, and you’ll have one heck of a tan on your face. The trick is to actually try the colors on your face and not your neck or hand. If possible, it’s best to test them out on your jawline and check it in the daylight. The best shade is the one that suits your color without blending.

Find the right brush. There are foundation brushes, powder brushes, blending brushes, contour brushes and about a thousand other ones to choose from (and let’s not forget about the sponges). Grab a kit, experiment with them and figure out which ones you can work with to get the most out of your makeup.

Follow an order. Dab your foundation to the center of your face first, then place a dab on your cheeks, nose, chin and forehead. Next, fill in the spaces by blending and spreading in between.

Fill in those other gaps. You don’t want to see where your foundation begins and ends, and neither does anyone else. Make sure application is smooth and even, and you may even want to run the brush around your ears and your neck, so there are no sudden changes in your complexion.

Cover your dark spots. Did you think we forgot about concealer? Nope, it’s best to apply after your foundation. Not only do you use less concealer this way, but your troubled areas may have already been covered when the foundation was applied. If not, take a brush to dab on some concealer then take your foundation applicator to blend that area and get an airbrushed look.

Set it off. Finish off your hard work with a translucent, matte setting powder. It may look white and strange in the container, but these powders won’t wash you out. They will make your new face stay in place, last longer and stay oil-free. The best way to apply them is with a large brush. Start at one temple, swipe down the cheekbone, up the bridge of your nose, down the opposite cheek and up the other temple, making the letter ‘W.’

Now you’re all set, literally! If you have any other foundation tips, feel free to share them in the comments.
